⏰ Time For A New Chapter

It turns out I’m a bit of a boomerang – I’ve left self-employment, come back, and now I’m off again. This time though, it feels like the right move at the right time.

Sam Dixon Marketing has always been something I’ve come back to - it’s been my heart and hustle, and I’ve had the absolute joy of working with brilliant business owners who put their all into what they do. I’ve learnt so much, laughed a lot, and maybe cried over a few Mailchimp glitches too.

But… the market’s shifted, the landscape’s changed, and if I’m honest - it’s been a tough time for many of us self-employed folk.

Plus, I started to feel like I wasn’t really using everything I had to offer, and I knew I wanted to get that spark back.

So when the right opportunity came up, it just made sense. A new challenge, a proper team again, and a chance to bring all my marketing experience into something fresh. I've just shared on LinkedIn I started on Wednesday.

To my clients, cheerleaders and fellow business owners - thank you. You’ve kept me going more than you know.

And to anyone else wondering whether it’s time to try something new - trust yourself. It doesn’t mean what you built wasn’t worth it. It just means you’re allowed to grow.

I’ve not posted in over 6 weeks. And honestly, it feels brilliant.

I'm not done. I'm not going anywhere. But right now, I’ve got enough.

Enough work. Enough connection. Enough to be deeply grateful for.

I'm choosing to focus on those I’m already working alongside and where I'm already part of a Community. My fabulous clients, my Huddle members and those who are part of the Thrive Collective crew - and of course me.

I'm pleased to say there'll be no pressure to 'keep up'. I'm choosing slower days, time with friends and family and enjoying the summer with my husband and two boys.

Workwise - my priority is to those who are already invested in working together.

No doubt I'll be showing up on my stories (my favourite part of the socials) - keeping the conversations going and connections continuing. I've still got a job to do. But I'm feeling a shift in energy.

Well, hopefully it beats a "death by Powerpoint" presentation!

On Monday, I gave a talk all about email marketing to the brilliant members and guests of - hosted at the

I had originally intended to pack as many hints, tips and stats as I could into 20 minutes.

But last minute I had a change of plan. Why not ask those who were coming. What's holding you back? What can I help with to get you using more email marketing in your business.

I saw this quote recently, and it hit me hard.

The truth is, the past few months I've had my confidence knocked.

Not in a dramatic way. But in that quiet, creeping way that makes you second-guess your voice, your ideas, your work.

But I’m back now.

Feeling more focused. Reconnected with my why. And ready to show up fully again.

So if you’ve been feeling a little off track or like you've lost your spark, I'm right there with you.

And if it helps, I'm sharing 3 quick things that helped me shift the fog and start moving again:

✨ 1. Speak to someone who gets it.
Sometimes a a cuppa and a chat with a business mate who 'gets it' and more importantly, gets you, is super powerful and helpful. To remind yourself who you are.

✨ 2. Look at why you're brilliant.
Scroll back through recent testimonials, DMs, kind words. Remind yourself what you're great at. If you've not asked for testimonials recently, do it - it'll pump you up! I promise! And great for your marketing!

✨ 3. Choose progress over perfection.
You know I love this already. If the plan feels too big, just send the email, write the first sentence, reach out and ask for help.

Don't swipe if you're fully booked.

(But if you’ve got space to fill in your business… we need to talk.)

I work with business owners - restaurants, salons, retailers, service providers - who already have a list of customers sitting in their booking system or mailing list, but aren’t doing anything with it.

And once we start emailing that list. They see results.

Like “£5+ back for every £1 spent” kind of results.
