The start of July means I've officially been a freelance Digital Marketing Consultant for six FULL months. It may not seem like much but as someone who's dreamed of being freelance since first entering the world of Marketing six years ago, I am thrillllled about it 🙌🏼.⠀
I wouldn't change freelance life for anything else in the world. Getting to do the things I love for amazing clients and businesses I care about on a daily basis is wild and I'm forever grateful 🥺.⠀
With that said, I've got to work on perfecting my work-life balance (that's one of July's goals FYI🤞🏼) sooo I'm hoping to spend more evenings and weekends mastering the art of roller skating and switching my work-brain off!⠀

Words can't explain how much I would love to exploring a new country right now, unwinding in an unknown land and soaking up the sun 🌞🌊.⠀

But for now, I'll stick to weekdays working away on client work followed by enjoying weekends spent rollerskating, in the garden, exploring the local area or simply having a cosy day at home 🥰. ⠀

Adventures abroad will still be there, ready for when all this is "over"... whatever that means 💭.⠀

One of the benefits of lockdown is that we have (aka Callum has) been hard at work slowly transforming the garden from a neglected eye-sore into somewhere that's actually quite nice to sit and relax 🥰.⠀

Whilst we work on trying to find the best way to build raise beds without spending £5153 (advice and recommendations appreciated!), I've added a couple of new plant babies to the small-but-growing indoor plant collection 🌿🏡⠀

If every week could start with a hike in the Lakes, I think I'd be pretty damn content 😌⛰️.⠀

We should be in Scotland right now for a UK mini break. For obvious reasons (corona 🧫), our trip has been postponed. So, instead my working week started with a hike up Blencathra via Sharp Edge before heading home to crack on with work in the afternoon. ⠀
I love scrambling so it felt good to get outside and go on a scrambly hike for the first time in a longggg time ⛰️🙌🏼⠀

It feels important to share this post by because whilst it's all well and good posting things online (much like I'm doing right now, I guess) it's more important that we use our offline voice, power and influence 🤞🏼.⠀

Being active on social media IS important... As a freelance social media manager, I'm bound to tell you that there is power behind the things you post online. ⠀
⠀
However, those posts are empty and meaningless if your real-world actions don't back up the things you say on social media. So, take a second to check the things you say and do then make sure you're following up with real-world action... Sign petitions, donate, speak to family members, read books, listen more, educate yourself and generally try to do better. At least, I know that's what I'm going to do 🌍🖤.⠀

These cakes are getting me through this week 🍰🍫.
The first (and last) time I visited was waaay back in 2016 and I'm definitely kicking myself for waiting until 2020 to have their brownies again 🤦🏼‍♀️.
I urge EVERYONE orders a box, support a small indie and discover the best blondies that ever existed* 🤞🏼
*Also the only blondies I've ever eaten but ngl I'm scared to try any other blondies incase they don't compare to these unworldly slices of cake...

Accurate representation of how I feel without any outdoors adventures on the horizon 🤪...
Honestly, can't wait for the day we can go on a big hike (potentially with muddy dogs in tow) but until then, I'll be staying home and enjoying whatever mini-home adventures I can ☕🍃

Ad - Honestly, how are 𝘆𝗼𝘂 coping with self-isolation and social distancing? ☕
As someone who loves keeping busy and getting outdoors, it's been an adjustment for me... 𝗯𝘂𝘁 I've not once broken the rules 🙅🏼‍♀️.
It is 100% possible to stay home, stay safe and have fun!
From hiking Pendle hill on my stairs to camping in the garden, playing board games and doing home workouts, I'm finding ways to make being home 24/7 fun and full of adventure 🥰. What have you been doing?

Ad -
Everything all feels strange right now and I don't really know what to say. Bouldering/climbing gyms are closed, the shops are empty (and so are our cupboards), people are working from home and everything just feels uncertain.
One thing I'm sure of, Roley will definitely be running round in circles if he can't get out for long walks and I can almost hear my new softshell waterproof jacket and matching fleece from begging for more outdoor adventures before we go on total lockdown ⛰️🐶...
Here's to keeping positive, finding joy in the small things (like a cup of tea, reassuring illustrations and my cosy tog24 fleece) and all doing what we can to help others through this weird and trying time ✨

When did you last get out of your comfort zone? 💭
After another weekend of climbing, I'm hyped to keep pushing my boundaries, getting out of my comfort zone and climb more walls (obviously) 🐒

I'm at my happiest when getting stuck into adventure or exploring the outdoors 🏞️
This weekend we started a rock climbing course and I'm soooo excited to finish my course, climb more (obviously) then start adding climbing to the list of outdoor adventures 🧗🏼‍♀️
