Vigil 119, the final time we came together to stand for the hostages. A day we hoped for, after over 2 years every single hostage was brought home. But the Jew hatred that has been unleashed isn't going away. We will fight against it as we fought for our hostages.

May is National Share a Story Month.

So here is my story...

Working my way up the career ladder of digital marketing, until redundancy reared its ugly head.

Maternity and baby no. 1 followed.

Back to work in marketing and project management, still forging ahead with my career.

Then came maternity and baby no.2

Like many mums, childcare costs came in to play, so a longer career break was needed.

But, not to be deterred, I was back 2 years later as a digital marketing contractor and, finally, the holy grail for , a part time local online marketing role.

But no. It wasn't to be and redundancy reared its head again.

Maternity and baby no.3 and time to try .

Why am I telling you all of this?

Like many mums who leave the workplace or who have a sporadic working history I lost track of my worth.

is a big thing to overcome. But what I realised, experience matters.

The experience gained in marketing, in other roles and in my personal life.

And that experience is valuable.

It's what makes me a good marketer, able to understand businesses and help them on their marketing journey.

So my question is, what's your story?

Marketing is not about telling the world what you do, but knowing you and their needs, issues, stresses, concerns. Then showing them how you can solve it for them.

Do you rely on goodwill?

Maybe the goodwill of your clients to remember to contact you at the right time?

Or to recommend you to their wider network?

But do you actively encourage goodwill?

Do you send regular, informative, non salesy email campaigns to make sure you stay top of mind, especially if clients might only need you once a year or when they have a problem, for example accountants, solicitors or HR professionals.

What about a process to encourage feedback and reviews?

Maybe you're a mortgage broker who asks for feedback when the mortgage offer has been made, and a full review on completion?

If you're not encouraging goodwill you're missing an opportunity.

A way to build your reputation, brand awareness and bring prospective new clients.
