Consistently showing up on social media shows your followers that you’re active, open for business and wanting to engage with them - all great things for creating loyal followers and customers!

But, showing up consistently can be overwhelming, especially if you don’t know what to post and feel like you don’t have time to.

Here are my top tips to overcome this:
📸 Take photos or videos of everything you do. It might seem boring or irrelevant, but having a bank of content will make your life easier when you want to post. Plus, people LOVE BTS content, so don’t dismiss something that you might think is mundane
🗓 Create a 30day strategy plan - what are your goals this month? What events do you want to showcase? How can you educate your followers? Bonus if you can plan image ideas and start to write the copy
📅 Schedule your content a week in advance, so if anything comes you know this is covered. I always like to set a phone reminder so you know when your post is scheduled!

Did you know that 70% of IG users watch stories daily, yet only 30% of businesses on IG utilise them? 🤯

I must admit, I know how easy it can be to neglect your stories. More often enough the reason is “I don’t know what to post” and that’s because I always question “are people going to like it” and the answer is - you don’t know what people are going to like until you try! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Brand consistency is essential for building brand awareness and recognition ✨

If you’re a small business I’d recommend taking a step back and looking at your feeds - do the colours, fonts and elements you’re using align into a cohesive aesthetic? Keep reading for my tips on each element, but since you’ve read this far make sure you follow me for social media advice!

Colours: Consistently using the same one or two create a strong association in your followers mind. This means when they’re scrolling through their feed, they’ll be able to instantly recognise your posts. This means stronger awareness & recognition, leading to more loyal followers. My top tip: check out Coolors.co for combination ideas 🌈

Fonts: The psychology of fonts is so important, their design alters what the words are saying. Look into the font psychology, does the aesthetic match your values? 🔠

Elements: Canva has a plethora of elements, so I know how difficult it can be to find similar aesthetics and remember them on your next post. I recommend finding a couple of elements you like, clicking the i and looking at what else that designer has created. I copy this name and store it in my notes! ℹ️

Let’s put the social back into social media! 👊🏼

If the engagement is low on your posts it’s likely to be one of two reasons, the content isn’t meaningful to your audience or you’re not engaging enough with your followers. No one likes a post and ghost 🙅🏻‍♀️

Here’s the power hour formula:
🕑15 mins - engage with other creators / businesses in your industry (like, comment, reply to stories or DM)
🕑15 mins - reply to comments on your posts and their posts
🕑15 mins - reply to all your DMs - if you don’t have any, reply to stories and start those conversations
🕑15 mins - engage on posts with relevant hashtags in your niche

The idea is to build meaningful interactions with other people, pages and businesses in your niche, to network and build a community. This should be more important that the statistical engagement rate, but it should also help to boost it! 🙌🏼
