▶️ Your journey to a successful creative business starts here! I'm a graphic designer and founder of Imagenation Design, where I help small business owners to rock their brand with confidence and LIVE! 👍😊

I help others to start and run their organisations by taking care of all aspects of visual marketing, from brand strategy to branding design (logo, colour selection, typography, imagery etc) to any other design for web and print a business might need (cards, leaflets, rollup banners, e-books, social media posts, presentation slides). To my Polish clients, I offer copywriting services as well (HSP trait might be a burden sometimes, but this is rewarded by many creative skills 🙂 )

On top of new conversations with prospective clients, I'm looking to connect with web designers, brand strategists and business coaches, plus other businesses open to all sorts of collaborations.

▶ Your client isn't keen on your design. Now what?

Some clients will tell you exactly what they're not happy with.
They might even put together their own layout using AI and ask you to recreate it! 🙃

Others might simply say, “I'm not quite sure about this” without being able to explain why.

❗And that's where your communication skills come in.

Before making any changes, ask: “What specifically isn't working for you, and why?”
Find out whether it's a matter of personal taste, unclear expectations or a genuine mismatch with the brand strategy.

💡 Remember, your job isn't just to design, but to understand the problem before trying to solve it.

Happy Monday, fellow creatives! ✨

✅ Everyone wants an authentic brand.

I love working with enthusiastic clients who are just starting their business, especially when we get to the exciting bit — the visual identity!

❌ But here's something I've learnt over 26 years in design, marketing and branding: a great-looking brand isn't necessarily a well-built brand.

💡 Before you start designing anything, ask your client four simple questions:

👉🏻 WHO are you?
👉🏻 WHAT do you do?
👉🏻 WHY do you do it?
👉🏻 HOW do you do it?

And perhaps one more: HOW LONG do you see yourself doing this?

💡 Their answers should shape your creative decisions — from typography and colour palettes to the overall visual identity.

💡 Because good brand design isn't about your personal love of green or your favourite Open Sans font. 😉
It's about translating your client's business strategy into a visual language that connects with the right people.

💡 Design strategically, not just aesthetically, because you're not simply there to make things look pretty.
You're there to help your client communicate who they are and what they stand for.

👉 Fellow creatives, do you start with a proper discovery call or jump straight into design?

👀 Did you know that 55% of a brand’s first impression comes from its visual elements?

What does that mean for you as a creative when designing a brand for your client?

✅ You need to create a distinctive and consistent visual identity - from colour and typography to imagery, graphics and other recognisable brand elements.

✅ Repetition matters, because it helps people recognise and remember the brand.

✅ And especially now, when AI allows anyone to generate incredibly complex visuals in seconds, remember: more doesn't mean better!

Good design should communicate, not overwhelm, therefore less is still more.

❓ Not convinced? Take a look at a few over-the-top AI-generated graphics and see if your eyes know where to look first.

Mine don't. 😵‍💫

Your client’s brief is terrible?

Maybe that’s not the real problem. 👀

A good creative doesn’t just take a brief — they know how to ask the right questions and uncover what the client actually needs.

🎥 Here’s how to get a better brief before you start designing.

BTW: if you can read your clients' minds, teach me.
After 25+ years in the creative industry, I still can't 😀

Have you come across Glossier before?
Do you buy from the brand, or is this your first time hearing about it?

Did you know that 81% of consumers need to trust a brand before they'll consider buying from it?*

What does that mean for you — a freelancer, digital creative or small business owner?

It means great design isn't enough!

Your client first needs to believe that you're the right person to handle their project, solve their problem or deliver the service they need.

And trust is built long before that first conversation:

▶ by demonstrating your expertise, not just showing your portfolio,

▶ by sharing your process and the thinking behind your work,

▶ by showing real projects and results,

▶ by sharing client testimonials,

▶ by clearly communicating how you work and what clients can expect from you,

▶ by showing up consistently and keeping your communication coherent.

Your client isn't just buying your skills. They're also buying the confidence that they can trust you.

❓ What are you doing today to build trust with potential clients before they even get in touch?

A roll-up banner design and print for Agnieszka Aga Augustyniak - Mortgage Adviser.

👉 We faced a double challenge here: not only did we need to work within our client's brand guidelines, but we also had to align the design with those of the umbrella company they operate under.

The business is highly regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority), and all marketing materials created for our client required formal approval.

⚡️ We're pleased to say the roll-up banner is now proudly representing Agnieszka at her events, and she was absolutely delighted with our services.

Ladies... mums... support your children, but don't forget about yourself either.
These days you can – and you absolutely should!

🇵🇱 I've supported the Polish national football team for as long as I can remember.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Since moving to England in 2007, I've found myself cheering on the home team too.

⚽ It's not that I'm a football expert – I still don't always understand that offside thing! 😄
But it's become my little way of celebrating both countries, and a great "excuse" to enjoy some exciting family time together.

Now that the World Cup has come to an end, my social media feeds are full of stories about the players.
And one thing keeps standing out...

Time and time again, I read about the incredible sacrifices their mothers made to help them succeed.
Some cleaned changing rooms to support their children's dreams.
Others gave up their own careers and moved abroad so their sons could join a new football club.

🤔 Yet I can't remember hearing many stories about fathers putting their own careers on hold to support their daughters in the same way.
Can you think of one? I'd genuinely love to hear it.

I just hope those mums have been rewarded in some way for everything they gave – their time, money, faith, endless support... and so much more.

✨ Thankfully, today's women have more options than ever before.
Many of us can build something of our own alongside supporting our families.
We can create businesses online, work flexibly and shape careers that fit around the life we want to live.

My role is to guide women through building a brand that's aligned with the life they truly want to live, and I love my little-big mission!

▶️ Did you know that 85% of consumers use social media to research new brands?

This means that before someone visits your website or gets in touch with you, they'll often check out your social media profile first.

That's where they'll find out:

✔️ whether you're active,
✔️ how your brand presents itself,
✔️ whether you inspire trust.

That's why social media isn't just a place to publish posts — it's one of the first impressions people get of your brand.

❓ If someone came across your profile today, what first impression would it leave?
