✨ DISCOVER good food, cold drinks and a day beside the sea.
⭐️ Sitting right on Southbourne Promenade, SOBO BEACH brings together relaxed beachside dining, palm trees, a beach bar and gorgeous views across the coast.

⭐️ Start the day with breakfast and coffee, stay for lunch from the Flamin-Go Grill or Wok-Shack, then settle in for dinner, drinks and sunset vibes. There’s plenty happening throughout the summer too, from live music and DJs to regular beachside events. ⁠

🥰 And it’s dog friendly too, so four-legged family members don’t have to miss out on the fun!

🌒 One of those evenings Southbourne won’t forget in a hurry.

Last night, people packed out Southbourne Beach to watch one of the most impressive solar eclipses the UK will see for decades. From Bournemouth, around 94% of the Sun was covered at its peak.

What made it even better was seeing everyone experience it together. People passing around eclipse glasses, strangers sharing them with anyone who didn’t have a pair, and the whole beach stopping for a while just to look up.

There will be other partial eclipses, but the UK won’t see another one this close to total until 2081. The next total solar eclipse visible from the UK isn’t until 2090.

Pretty special to see Southbourne so busy for something like this, and even better to have captured it on film. 🌊☀️

Bournemouth absolutely showed up for this one. 🚲🔊

Dom Whiting brought Drum & Bass On The Bike back to Bournemouth and the atmosphere was unreal.

Thousands of people moving through the streets together, with even more waiting on corners, outside their homes and up on balconies just to watch it pass. Sunshine, drum and bass and what felt like the whole town sharing the same moment.

Definitely one of those days where you had to be there to understand just how good the energy was. What a day. ☀️
