📈🐑 A solid start to the 2026 selling season

The first sales of the new season are showing positive signs for our farmers. 🌟

✅ 3,000 tonnes of new season wool sold across the first four auctions
✅ £1.70/kg average price achieved
✅ 70p/kg higher than at the same stage last year

📊 Demand has remained strong too, with close to 90% clearance across the last three sales.

💪 Wool markets can move, but it's encouraging to see stronger prices and solid demand at the start of the season.

These photos capture their wool arriving at one of our depots, ready to be graded and sold alongside wool from farms across the UK.

A great example of the journey wool takes beyond the farm gate.

What does fully traceable British wool mean, and why does it matter?

Every kilo can be traced back to the farm it came from.

Along the way, wool is graded, baled, scanned and sampled, with testing covering micron, moisture, colour and yield.

That gives buyers greater confidence in exactly what they’re buying – and customers pay more for fully traceable wool.
