My name is Melanie Crossley, My passion in photography rose a few years ago when I purchased a point and shoot, then was kindly given a Canon 400D.I have now gone on to shoot with a Canon 7D. I wanted to take my photography to the next level so I enrolled on a 2 year HNC (Higher National Certificate) Photography course at Bradford College. I have since finished and passed this course and gained a

pass award so I will be attending my graduation ceremony in December 2013. I gained extensive knowledge through the course but in the world of photography I am learning new things every time I switch on the camera! I am located in Denholme, a village on the outskirts of Bradford,West Yorkshire and I enjoy the out doors so I use the natural surroundings and light. Although some Photographers still prefer to use film, many of the "Top Photographers" have converted to the Digital, this has made imagery faster and more controllable. I myself believe Digital takes the images a step further allowing the artist to manipulate thus making the image more pleasing to the eye. I am learning all the time and I like to experiment with various digital imaging techniques that I add to some of my images. However, I do continue to place the main emphasis when creating my work of maximizing the traditional skills of manual camera photography and real world lighting.
