I was recently asked to transform some clothing which once belonged to a much loved and dearly missed Mam and Nana into memory bears.

It was an absolute pleasure and an honour to create these keepsakes and I am very excited to share them with you now that the bears have been delivered to their new homes.

It is always an honour to be entrusted with clothing of loved ones and my latest commission was no exception. I was asked to make memory bears for 3 little girls out of their late Granda’s clothes. These bears were made from a work high-vis top, a pair of jeans, 2 t-shirts, a smart shirt and a silk tie.

All three bears were made using the same colour placement but had subtle individual differences, they were finished off with each girls initial, a handmade origami butterfly (with brooch back to enable the girls to wear it themselves if they wish) and an Everton football club badge.

With the families permission I can share photos as the bears have now gone to their new home. I’m assured they were well received and are much loved as are the memories of their beloved Granda.

My last event for 2022, I will have my handmade gifts and textiles with me and look forward to seeing everyone there.

Pop down down to Brougham Hall between 10am and 4pm, there will be lots of small businesses to help with any last minute Christmas shopping.

You could also sample some lovely cakes, bakes and warm drinks while you're there (I think we might all need a warm drink ❄️)

Christmas Day is only 57 days away! There’s shopping to be done!

Lots of lovely handmade items to be found including clothing, fused glass, cards, textiles, resin key rings and much more. Come down to Milburn village and take a look and enjoy a cuppa while supporting this local community and fabulous crafters.
