4. Where do they spend their time? (physical & digital)
5. What are the demographics? (age/location/job/etc.)

With these answers, we know where to advertise and who to target.

𝟏. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥

↳ Selling to a cold audience without adding steps between the 1st time they ever see your brand and them buying (ie. nurturing a warm audience)

𝟐. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐬

↳ Try WhatsApp, calls, messenger, and lead forms to convert the leads from your ads. Find the one that works for your business.

𝟑. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬

↳ Test different interests, groups, locations, ages, and genders to find the best-performing group. There’s always better.

𝟒. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬

↳ Test different colours, hooks, captions, pain points, stories, CTAs, offers, actors, and backgrounds to find the best-performing creative. There’s always better.

𝟓. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬

↳ Adsets don’t have an expiry date. But they do get oversaturated. This means people see the same ad too often and it starts to perform worse. I manually end or reduce spending for adsets when they hit 2.0 -2.5 Frequency.

𝟔. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

↳ When I add a clear offer when asking some to click on the ad, the amount of people that click went up. For example, “Sign up before Friday for 25% off!”.

𝟕. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲

↳ Viewers see the picture → text → caption in that order. So I make sure that I include an actor that looks like them, hook them with a benefit in the text, and give a differentiator to the competition in the caption.

𝟖. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐥

↳ I always attach a pixel to my website which allows me to track everyone which visited my website and identify them on Facebook/Instagram so that I can convert and improve the quality of the leads.

These are 2 tested methods that have generated £10,000s.

1) Cold audience

- These people most likely won’t buy now
⁠- So don’t sell → create an interest
- Give an easy to follow task
- Include their incentive

Instead of:

Try:
🗣️ Check our website for better deals.

2) Warm audience

- Now we want leads
- Tell people where to go and what to do
- Include the benefits for them for doing so

Example:

My clients are local businesses.

They don’t have the time to be worrying about social media and definitely not qualifying leads.

So once the leads are flowing I setup a typeform…

- What is your name?
- Where are you based?
- What is your phone number?
- Then add 1 personalised question around your service

This small barrier to entry weeds out the people who are just window shopping.

The important part is that the form has to be filled out manually.

We got our client 49 leads and a 10X ROI in 30 days.

But it wasn’t enough.

They needed help.

They had no one to convert those leads, because…

- Employees were on holiday
- The founder was training new hires
- The founder was delivering the service

Safe to say they were suffering with a severe case of success.

It took over a week to reply to the leads by which point, they weren’t as interested anymore.

So this month, we’ve agreed to contact the leads and start appointment setting.

Our 1st 2 clients signed in 2 months.

We thought business was going to be easy.

BUT we then had to wait 4 months for client number 3. In that time…

- we were worried about losing all our savings
- we were worried we weren’t good enough
- we were worried we’d never sign a client

But we kept working hard, learning our craft, and listening to all the motivational videos.

Fast forward to today we have a lot more confidence we can grow our business.

- We’ve got referrals
- We’ve got client results
- We’ve got a better service to sell

Sure, we still have moments when we wonder if it will work.

But when we remind ourselves of the list above we feel a lot better.

To anyone else in a similar position…

Do not give up.

The path to achieve your goals is not easy, it never was and it will never be. If it was, you would already be over there.

Persist, try harder, work smarter and never give up.

This month I secured my client a 10X ROI!

Here is what we learnt:

- Ads performed better with a larger before/after difference
- Ads performed better with no text on the image
- Ads performed better with more expensive cars

This is just from month 1.

This is why ads isn’t just something to setup and leave.

It requires constant monitoring and testing to get the best results.

This was my 3-part strategy👇

1) Audience

- I learnt what problems they had
- What desires they wanted
- The misconceptions around my client’s service

2) Client
- I learnt about my client
- Who they are
- What their mission is
- How they operate

3) Content

- Created promotions to push engagements (ie. 12% discount until end of the month)
- We used every organic tool possible (story, reels, posts etc.)
- Gave as much expertise as possible in educational content
- Gave proof of results with the facts and figures
- Shared my client’s team, office and service
- Used a human face whenever possible
- Posted 3 reels per week
- Posted 2 stories a day

That’s how I increased reach by 285% in 3 months.
