There’s a bit of digital marketing I secretly love more than I probably should…
The detective work. 🔎
I’m currently working through a full website review for a small business that creates plant supports, 🪴and this is the bit where I get to poke around properly, follow the clues and work out what’s helping, what’s confusing people, what Google might be struggling with, what AI search understands, and where the easy wins are hiding.
I also love that every review teaches me something completely unrelated to marketing. This week I’m suddenly learning about peonies, dahlias, obelisks and why apparently some plants need far more structural support than I had ever appreciated. 🌿
It’s part website review, part SEO, part customer journey, part “why on earth is that old address still showing up there?”
A proper review can include:
• website structure and key pages
• SEO and search visibility
• AI search / AEO checks
• customer journey and calls to action
• Google Business and wider online presence
• competitor and keyword research
• Analytics and Search Console, where available
• social media opportunities
• a clear list of what to fix first, what can wait, and what’s actually worth paying for
The useful bit is not just being told “your website needs work”.
It’s coming away knowing what’s wrong, what matters most, what you can do yourself, what you may need help with, and what could actually make the biggest difference to being found, understood and chosen online.
If your website has been sitting there quietly existing but not really pulling its weight, I’ve got space for a small number of reviews coming up.
