Thank you for the rubbish clearance recommendations. That’s now sorted.

Now we need help with a carpet fitter for the flat above 🙏🏻

Just someone who can fit one we already have?

Ideally someone who isn’t too expensive as this is at a cost to us and not through our insurers.

Our windows are being replaced Wednesday!

Electricity work starts this weekend.

Flooring hopefully next week!

Will send the next update on when we think we will be back open however we are now at the stage where we are able to start repairs 🙌🏻

Just to avoid any more speculation Java is not closing down 😂

Unfortunately the insurance process does take a bit of time especially when we are new to this process.

Our insurance is approved and we are hoping to get 90% of the paperwork sent off today for repairs to start next week.

We are still needing a laminate replacement flooring quote and a painting/ tidy up quote.

If anyone is available this afternoon to potentially meet me there and get me a quote over by the end of the day it would be greatly appreciated.

We will still be closed this week due damage from the flood. We will be in to clear and start cleaning, however as we are still waiting to hear from our insurance company before we can do the bigger repairs.

After the long weekend we haven’t made much progress. We will be in tomorrow to start clearing and making what we can.
At the moment we believe we will likely be closed for the week and hoping to open next week.
If this changes we will update as soon as we can.

As many know today was a bad day for Java Cafe. We had a burst pipe in the flat above. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the water off for around 45 minutes causing some great damage.

After an entire afternoon and evening trying to get ourselves in a fit state (as well as the tenant upstairs) we have managed to sort a lot out.

We are hoping to re open on Tuesday however depending on the extent of the damage we may need to extend this. I will update everyone on here.

A MASSIVE thank you to all those that helped today. Even the cuddles I got from so many people through my melt downs! It was such a difficult day but the people that helped really made a difference.

Thank you to Mark the postman for being the point of call and nearly being crushed by the ceiling!
All the customers and sue our volunteer for helping and putting up with my extreme crying and dramatic ness!!
Nat and Char for running down straight away and helping clear.
Dayle for sorting the pipes at last minute.
The guy walking past who managed to shut of the water mains outside for us. You absolutely saved the cafe!
Andy and the gang next door for all the bits we borrowed and making us tea.
Scott for running down straight away and sorting the ceiling and cleaning to ensure Saana had a home tonight.
Danny for helping me clean and dry everything.
My husband for calming me down and helping clear bits out.
And all the passers by for all your support.
Also all the messages I’ve received! And the people who have made calls for me.

We couldn’t have done all this without you all.
