We don’t post nearly as much as we could, mainly because we don’t advertise on Facebook.

Also, we are busy building a website that looks great and are set up for growth.

One of our recent projects was for a cleaning company called Fresh Fibres.

The website they had previously didn’t implement established design principles, didn’t speak to their target audience as well as it could have and wasn’t set up for converting website visitors into enquiries.

Their new website is now easier to use and speaks to their target audience, and there are many ways for website visitors to get in touch with this company.

We continue to support Fresh Fibres, adding more pages, blog posts and other services to improve their Google rankings.

Check their website out in the comments.

HEAD

This was the response after sending a customer this mood board today 🥳

Mood boards are one of the ways we ensure we're aligned with our customer's vision of their website.

This means the customer gets what they want and reduces the number of changes speeding up the design & development time.

Win/win 👍

A busy couple of weeks for me & Petra, but I wanted to share something about design...

You don't need to be a designer to know how good something looks or doesn't.

Even to the untrained eye you can often look at a website, leaflet, a building, a piece of clothing or anything else designed and know if it's damn right ugly or breathtakingly gorgeous.

You don't know why it looks amazing or terrible but you do know.

You know it to a degree of certainty that you'll turn to a friend or family member and point it out without doubting yourself one bit.

So why is that? 🤔

Well when designing a website (or anything for that matter) there are key principles that you follow.

When you follow these principles your design starts to take form.

You can take a truly terribly designed project 🤢 and simply by implementing these design principles the project will start to look much, much better 😍

One of those principles for web design is 'alignment'.

If you place all the individual elements all over the place like you dropped half a dozen eggs on the floor it's going to look eggstraordinarily bad 🥚😬 🫠

Sorry 🫣

However, if your content aligns it'll be much more pleasing to the eye.

This matters because if the design displeases the person looking at your website there's a high likelihood they'll just leave and you won't get the lead or sale.

In the images below you can see the way all the content aligns many, many times and without the lines.

This is called using a grid system - A widely used design system which was created by Villard De Honnecourt, an architect in the 13th century.

When you next look at a leaflet you get through the door you'll be able to see the many ways it aligns (if it's well designed)

Anyway this is just one of the many design principles and thought it was worth sharing because good design matters if you want to turn potential customers in to actual paying customers.

When we build your website one of the key things we concern ourselves with is page speed🧐

Back in 2006, Amazon found that every 100ms in added page load time cost them 1% in sales 😯

Google will also penalise your website for being slow.

All things being equal, if your website isn't as fast as your your competitors your website will show up lower than yours 📉📉

This results in you getting less customers 🙁

Now you can we why Petra (as a Developer) spends her time making sure your site is as fast as can be 💪

What's great is Google actually gives you a web tool called 'Google Page Insights' where you can check your own website's speed.

Go check it out to see how well your site does in Google's eyes

And if you want a super snappy trail blazing website just give us a message 😀

We haven't posted on our business page for a while because as some of you know we have moved to Thailand for a bit 🇹🇭 and as such we were very busy preparing for that while also working.

Fancied a bit of a change and some sun 🌞 we're nicely settled in Chiang Mai now and we love being out here 🙂

However, this week someone who we did some work for previously said they knew we were in Thailand and didn't want to bother us regarding websites. He's very nice like that.

But he was shocked to hear this isn't a holiday as such and we're actually working while we're out here.

So I thought I'd make it clear for anyone else who maybe thinking about getting in touch but also didn't to bother us.

We are still open for business for both new and existing customers. Please don't be scared just send us an email or message on here 🙂

Anyhow, have a great week!

Jason's been having fun creating a mock web design for a fictitious yoga company in Brighton.

This 'Hero' section lets the visitor know they've arrived at the Brighton Yoga Centre website with a clear value proposition.

Taking the next step is simple for the user with obvious navigation to classes and chat function found in the 2 buttons under the supporting copy.

A great website is more than just great design, website performance is also vital to its success 🖥 📈

Poor performance will result in lower rankings in search engines, less traffic to your site and ultimately less revenue for your business. 💷 💷 💷

Today I tested a website owned by one of our customers and the results were less than impressive scoring a big red F 😢 📉

Luckily, we're building them a new website which we also tested. As you can see below we scored a lovely green A 😀🥇🏆

Using GTMetrix you can test your own site & getting in touch with us can get you the results your business needs.
