âHow much should I spend on ads?â I get asked this question so much I think I should get a tattoo of it on me somewhere.
The answer always is a multi-question responseâŚ
- Does your product or service currently sell without ads?
- How much is your product or service?
- How long does it take to sell?
- Is the system for taking cash set-up properly i.e. website or lead funnel?
- Was % is it currently converting at?
- Are you already running ads?
Once we know the answer to these things we can then understand if paid social ads are just another channel to add to your commercial operation, or whether you are looking to put all of your money on red by betting on ads to be the âthingâ that drives your business forward.
Both scenarios have different expectations and emotions attached to them too and depending on a business ownersâ need when they make the query, they may not be willing to part with the cash necessary to get paid ads running.
The question then becomes about how to manage a business ownerâs mindset about spending money on marketing when it might not net a quick return.
Ideally we only want to work with businesses that donât have to be convinced that spending money to acquire the traffic of their ideal customers is a good idea.
Once all of that has been dealt with, we can then have direct conversations about revenue and return without it triggering anyone, and then I can finally answer with an answer based on data and not on vibes.
If you think spending ÂŁ300 a month drives a ÂŁmillion turnover business, then think again. Beware the advisors telling you that you can grow a business spending ÂŁ5 a day.
But if you are only just starting out, then we have to find a figure that wonât break the bank while testing happens.
Then, and only then, a suggestion for spend can be made.
If youâre at the early stage, you can still test, with realistic expectations and a structured approach.
Thatâs why we run paid mini audits.
From ÂŁ97+VAT, we review your set-up and/or ads account and show you what we would do if we were working with you.
