Seeking a creative outlet she found calligraphy and fell in love with it immediately. Laying beautifully lettered inspirational quotes on the page helped her deal with her anxiety and gave her the confidence to start her journey with Creative Feel Designs in 2015.

Alina has been teaching calligraphy since 2017 and have run many in person workshops in East Sussex and London. She also teaches regular online classes, which allow people to join in from all over the world and learn this wonderful skill! Each attendee gets a beautifully personalised kit prior to the class, which is packed with all the tools designed for beginners.

The Complete Calligraphy Journey is live. ✨

Looking back, I don’t think I could have created this course a few years ago.

It’s taken years of teaching workshops, running memberships, creating lessons, answering questions, and seeing where people get stuck.

Over time, I started noticing the same things coming up again and again. Not knowing what to practise. Feeling overwhelmed by flourishing. Struggling with consistency. Losing confidence when progress felt slower than expected.

This course grew from all of those conversations.

It’s everything I’ve learned through teaching calligraphy and through my own practice, brought together in one place.

I love that calligraphy isn’t just one thing.
It can be elegant, expressive, playful, mindful, creative and deeply personal all at once.

One day I’m creating delicate place cards for a wedding, another I’m experimenting with flourishing, adding in watercolour, or simply enjoying the rhythm of pen on paper.

It’s a craft that continues to inspire me, even after all these years. And that’s exactly why I created The Complete Calligraphy Journey.

I wanted to bring together everything I’ve learnt and loved about calligraphy into one structured, step-by-step course, helping you build strong foundations while exploring the many creative possibilities this craft has to offer.

A few photos from a recent modern calligraphy workshop I had the pleasure of teaching at Legal & General.

There’s something really lovely about watching a room full of people put their emails, meetings and to-do lists aside for a little while and simply create.

No experience was needed, just a chance to slow down, learn a new skill and enjoy a different kind of team experience.

It was wonderful to see everyone embracing the process, supporting one another and creating something completely unique.

I feel like this month has been a great reminder to slow down a little and enjoy things in between the busy days.

Somewhere along the way after having children, I think I forgot a little bit about the hobbies and little things I personally enjoy doing just for fun. Not calligraphy obviously… that one never left haha.

Lately, I’ve been slowly reconnecting with that creative side again through trying new things (a matcha tasting workshop with .sako 😍), baking bread!!, and learning lino printing - which, by the way, is surprisingly therapeutic and satisfying.

We also went to The Great Escape Festival in Brighton for my birthday and it ended up being one of my favourite weekends in such a long time. Good music, sea air, laughing with people I love… the kind of moments you wish you could bottle up.

I’ve honestly just felt really grateful lately for friends, family, creativity, and simple moments that make life feel full!

A little reminder to ALWAYS make space for things that bring you joy, too!

For a long time, I’ve wanted to create a course that didn’t just teach individual techniques, but helped people understand how to actually grow creatively with calligraphy.

When I first started, I spent years trying to piece everything together separately - brush lettering, dip pen calligraphy, flourishing, composition, watercolour. But over time, I realised the real magic came from learning how these skills could work together.
