If I had a pound for every time I stumbled over an answer to this, I would be writing this from a sunlounger!

The thing is when you wear as many hats as I do, fitting it all into a neat little box is not easy. One minute I am reorganising inboxes or fixing CRM systems, and the next I am designing custom websites, on creating content, taking brand photography, or bringing late night ideas to life.

My goal is simple: to take on the tasks that feel heavy, frustrating, or time-consuming for you, so you can breathe easier and focus on what you genuinely love.

When I launched my complimentary portfolio sessions for Soul Heart Photography, my hope was simply to create a calm, gentle space for women to step in front of the lens without pressure.

Pascale was one of the four names drawn from my hat, and receiving this message from her after delivering her gallery this weekend means so much to me!

My aim with Soul Heart was always to capture the real essence of the women behind their brands, seeing and celebrating them just as they are.

Pascale is a jewellery designer and maker based here in the Stroud valleys, handcrafting symbolic, slow-crafted treasures inspired by nature, the spiral of transformation, and the sacred flow of life. Her pieces are created to help women embody their true selves, bringing joy to the heart and magic to everyday life.

Capturing a fellow creative alongside her beautiful, handcrafted pieces was an absolute dream. Pascale, thank you so much for trusting me with your portraits!

Katy and I first met back in October 2023 when she did my forearm tattoos, but after finishing up the second piece that November, life took over and we hadn't seen each other since! So when Katy's name was the second one drawn from the hat for my Soul Heart launch sessions, I was so excited!

On Tuesday morning, I headed down to Bristol to her gorgeous private studio, The Tattooed Teacup, for our shoot. We hit it off again straight away like old mates! Honestly, I could have spent all day just sitting there chatting, fueled by goodies from Boona Boona Coffee Roasters downstairs, and putting the world to rights with her!

Katy creates art that empowers people and helps them tell their stories through bold, vibrant ink. So when it came to capturing her portraits, I wanted to capture that exact same feeling: nothing stuff or forced, just relaxed observations and genuine laughs, (mainly about how we both forget how to do the simplest of things as soon as a camera is present!) to let her cool, bubbly personality shine through.

Astronomical autumn has officially started after the equinox took place in the early hours of this morning. Today, light and dark sit side by side in perfect balance.

As nature begins its slow shift inward, it is such a beautiful reminder that we are allowed to adjust our pace, too. Running a business does not mean you have to operate at maximum capacity every single day.

Honour your energy, create space for rest, and let the heavy things fall away like autumn leaves.

Thursday was my first "official" Soul Heart Photography session, and I spent the morning amongst the trees at Westonbirt Arboretum with the brilliant Sinéad of Sinéad Laffan | 🎤 UK Wedding Celebrant!

A few weeks ago, I posted looking for two female business owners to help build out my portrait portfolio. The response was so overwhelmingly lovely that I ended up doubling the spots to four, and Sinéad was one of the wonderful women drawn from the hat!

We had met briefly at an event previously, but it was so lovely to go for a walk, catch up properly, and get to know her better before bringing out the camera. We both admitted to feeling a bit nervous and awkward at the start, me for my first planned shoot with someone I didn't know well, and Sinéad for being on the other side of the lens, despite spending her working life helping couples feel calm and confident on their wedding day!

As a wedding celebrant and vow coach, Sinéad is an absolute natural at helping people feel grounded and relaxed when all eyes are on them. And that was the exact same feeling I wanted to capture in her portraits: no stiff posing or forced smiles, just natural light, genuine laughs, and her warm, vibrant personality.

Thank you Sinéad for travelling all the way down to my neck of the woods (even if there were distinctly fewer dogs at Westonbirt than normal)! 🌿
