Introducing our acts for Friday night at the old E - the shattering sounds of art-punk, noise rock and post punk are to be expected.

1. Shtëpi

Shtëpi are a melting pot of exhilarating art-punk sounds, boasting an aggressive and emphatic live sound, reminiscent of Vi**ra Boys & Idles. Expect industrial synth sounds, groovy percussion and guitars that vary between static and devoted, yet always triumphant. The band’s eclectic song-writing defies the containment of genres, with their latest EP ‘CTRL + ALT + ROCK’ forming the consummation of 3 years of relentless gigging, which has seen the surging act support the likes of Geese, Personal Trainer and Getdown Services. Shtëpi are one of the country’s most exciting upcoming bands, catch them before they’re the country’s worst kept secret!

2. Gaws

Noise makers Gaws have made an infamous name for themselves as provocateurs of all things loud and heavy. Expected mangled sounds that obliterate your ears (in a good way)

Introducing our artists for Thursday night which is sure to be a psych/prog/hardcore/garage (yes you read that right) spectacle of epic proportions!

1. Sunflowers

Formed in 2014 and howling from Porto, the band known as Sunflowers has bee shaking up the Portuguese music scene and like the plague in the 1300’s, they’ve been spreading all over Europe. Maybe it’s because the aggressive, destructive sound produced by the band has nothing to do with their flourish name. Maybe it’s because of their prolific work ethic. Maybe it’s mind control via radio waves. Who know In over 300 shows over two continents (so far), they’ve shared stage with bands like Oh Sees, Moon Duo, Black Lips, Night Beats, Boogarins, La Femme, … and played festivals such as NOS Alive (PT), Festival Indigènes (FR), Endless Daze Fest (SA), Inner City Psych Fest (SA), Bristol Psych Fest (UK), Festival Europavox (FR), among many, many others.

2. GREEN MILK FROM THE PLANET ORANGE

GREEN MILK FROM THE PLANET ORANGE is a progressive rock band from Tokyo, consisting of dead k, A, and Damo. Their live show is chaotic, unpredictable, raw, and combines elements of prog/psych/hardcore and punk into a simply unmissable and unforgettable live performance. They have released three full-length albums to date and have toured Japan, East Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Tomorrow night is our first event of the year! Black Market Karma + Waterpistol live from The Croft! Some words about our headliner:

Formed in London in 2011 and now based in Dover, Black Market Karma is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Stanley Belton. Working from his own “Cocoon” studio, Belton writes, records, and produces the band’s expansive body of work — a kaleidoscopic blend of 60s guitar pop, fuzzy psychedelia, lo-fi electronica, and hip-hop-tinged grooves. Over the years, the band has evolved from guitar-driven psych to lush, experimental soundscapes, as heard on The Technicolour Liquid Audio Machine. Known for collaborations with Tess Parks and Sonic Boom and tours alongside The Black Angels and The Warlocks, Black Market Karma continue to push the boundaries of modern psychedelia with their distinctive DIY spirit and hypnotic live energy.

Introducing our openers for Thursday night featuring at - Welsh sensations !

Hailing from Cardiff, Waterpistol are a six-piece psych-rock collective fusing 60s rock ’n’ roll swagger with the dreamy haze of 90s shoegaze. Formed in late 2022, the band quickly made waves with their debut single “Living In A Dream” and follow-up “Où est ton âme?”, recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios. Their sound is a vibrant mix of jangly guitars, dual vocals, and hypnotic rhythms that channel both nostalgia and modern edge. With performances at Sŵn Festival, FOCUS Wales, and Green Man already under their belt, Waterpistol are fast becoming an exciting new must see psych act!

Please find below some words about the band:

Founded by Kyotaro Miula in 2014, the band began by performing live on the bustling streets of Tokyo. Since then, they have released three albums through their local friend’s label Guruguru Brain. Their hypnotic, motorik-driven sound has taken them across Europe and the United States, where they’ve shared stages with artists like Damo Suzuki, the former vocalist of the legendary krautrock band CAN.

Their third studio album, *Fortune Goodies* (2022), is a deep dive into the rich legacy of krautrock. Drawing from Miula’s expanded musical vocabulary after relocating from Tokyo to Berlin, the album offers a uniquely Japanese perspective on encyclopedia of Krautrock. In 2024, Minami Deutsch completed two North American tours, including supporting Earthless and performing at the Levitation Festival, further cementing their place as a leading voice in modern kraut/psychedelic music.

There is a mischief and daydream to the character Floral Image, on full dynamic display across their latest record - a reflection of both the playful fraternity of band members Fergus Nolan (vocals, guitars), Jack Warner (vocals, keys), Matt Kennedy (bass guitar), Mitch Forsyth (drums, visuals), & Phil Whitton (guitars, visuals), and the ever-weaving textures they make together. It is an infrastructure that is unstructured; a body of work that bends and grows and shifts between light, dark, malaise, excitement. There are moments of head-down ferocity and, right there beside them, pools of pulsing wonderment. Fist and feather, hand in hand
