Early start at the new Shirehampton High Street Market location yesterday.

It was great to see both popular favourites and new stalls coming together, alongside some fantastic emerging local food brands.

Market opens every Thursday of the month from 9am to 2pm. Walk by for a peek or stop for a chat, there’s coffee and homemade cakes at an unbeatable £1.50 🫖

Discover how honey is made, dive into the world of artisan chocolate (yes, with all the fancy jargon), homemade Jamaican pasties ( yes not patties :), a proper jerk chicken, and find everything you need for natural skincare or a thoughtful small gift. You can even pick up a Bristol-based novel and keep your mind sharp while soaking up the summer sun this weekend.

Prices of stalls and products are kept low thanks to the incredible work of the volunteers and market organisers and enthusiastic traders!

Very pleased to support , a space that welcomes everyone and champions real independent businesses and local culture.

One outdoor stall is currently available, or you can join the waiting list—feel free to enquire for more details!

Until the next one 👋👋

Yesterday I spent the morning in Shirehampton, a few stops from Bristol Temple Meads station 🚉

Not in a 'passing through community vibes' kind of way, I was invited to take part in the making of the new high street market.

Walking the high street to shops worth visiting, having coffee and cake to Mark's , learn about card games with the new Luke's , seeing what’s moving, what feels good for their community. And something stood out.

When the market lost its home just after the 6th anniversary, it didn’t disappear. It quickly adapted.

A few steps down the road, the Methodist Church and Hub opened its doors. More space, indoor and outdoor, right in the middle of the high street.

But more than the location, people stepped in: organisers, volunteers, traders… everyone pulling in the same direction.

You can feel it. It’s not staged, it’s not 'marketed' It’s real. Shirehampton Action is behind the scene engine that is making this community move fast and unite.

If you’re around Bristol, the Market opening is worth the trip.

📍 Shirehampton Market
🗓 Thursday 2 April | 9am–2pm

Not just to buy, but to see what a local community is supposed to feel like.

Easy to get there by train Temple Meads station or bus from the city centre

I’ll be there too

🥕 ADV 😅

I am working a bit behind the scenes, helping bring more local food in. I will be hosting a stall where selected local food brands are displayed, tested and sold. Some local legends have been already successfully involved ♥️

If you want more info get in touch. Happy to source your fav brands to offer visibility to local makers.

🙌🏽 Come by, say hi, and support something that’s actually built by people who care.

Today we want to simplify your meal with a stunning offer from The Secret Garden.

Domenico, a local Italian chef and cheesemaker based in Dorset, and I made a tough selection for the Fair Grocer market and we've chosen:

🥕
Quiches
Focaccia pugliese (it's a traditional style, that fills your mouth with flavour!)
Mozzarella (knots)
Ricottina (small ricotta)
Cakes (small, 2 portions, perfect for couples or greedy sweet teeth)
🥕

Have you tried Tesco’s £1/kg oranges and found them tasteless or dry? Or even Tesco Finest? Their premium £2.40/Kg bag clearly lists post harvest chemical treatment and wax on the back. That’s not a natural fruit, it’s a compromise on health and fairness.

We get it: supermarkets are convenient. But at what cost to our health and farming communities?

🍊 Our blood oranges come from a small producer in Sicily’s Etna region—where rich soil, generous sun, and perfect weather give them natural sweetness and vibrant color. Grown with care, with no pesticides, post-harvest treatments, or wax, these are the original blood oranges, found only here.

We ensures consistency and full support for our producer while keeping prices fair and affordable for a premium product.

🇮🇹 Juicy blood oranges from Sicily arriving in 3-5working days

📦 Boxes: 5kg (1–2 ppl), 15kg (3–4 ppl), 30kg+ if sharing / small businesses

🤑 Price/Box: from £19, Price/kg: £3.50-3.80

📍Collection points in Bristol and Bath TBC.

🍊 Order closes Sunday night! Every week, until harvest ends (Feb/March).

They’re Sicilian 🇮🇹 because that’s where blood oranges belong.

Buying them in season, directly from a family farm, is still one of the smartest and fairest food choices you can make.
