If September taught us anything, it's that a little rain won't stop a BBQ.

This month also included catching up with old friends, supporting parents across Wales, celebrating a new book launch and helping a client mark 30 years in business.

Our wonderful Copywriter, Steve Hall, has written a book, and you’re invited to his book launch!

The powerful book reflects his son’s battle with schizophrenia, how he recovered his life and what was learnt. In Steve’s own words “It represents a triumph over a terrible disease for which there is no known cure.”

Steve has organised a book launch at Bookhaus in Wapping Wharf where he will be doing a few readings, and there will be songs from his son and daughter in law.

Steve has worked incredibly hard on this, and we are thoroughly looking forward to celebrating the evening with him.

We're delighted that our Don't Be Missed campaign, created in partnership with South East London Cancer Alliance NHS, has been shortlisted for the HSJ Awards 2026 in the NHS Communications Initiative of the Year category.

Encouraging more people to take up potentially life-saving lung health checks, the campaign combined insight-led strategy, bold creative and targeted communications to reach those most at risk.

We're incredibly proud to see this important work recognised and grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life.

Congratulations to all the finalists.

As our Art Director and Studio Manager, Lauren keeps the studio flowing while bringing a thoughtful, human touch to everything we create. Her calm leadership, creative eye, and attention to detail make a real difference to both the work and the team around her. Outside the studio, you’ll likely find Lauren out exploring with her cheeky dog Rigby.

🎉 Celebrating three years of Tom at SBW! 🎉

As our Senior Account Manager, Tom is a natural project lead who keeps even the most complex briefs moving smoothly from start to finish.

Over the past three years, he’s been instrumental in bringing impactful projects to life, including the Gloucestershire Hospitals Midwifery campaign video, which went on to win two awards last year 🏆🏆. A huge achievement, and a real testament to his calm, considered and detail‑driven approach.

And when he’s not steering projects at SBW, you’ll likely find him silversmithing and showcasing his handcrafted creations at artisan markets.

We asked Tom to sum up his SBW journey. His answer? “Loved it.”
