SIR! A new publication has arrived! I've always had a thing for small, curious and ephemeral books and zines, it's one of the things that got me into printing in the first place (my end of degree show included a gigantic fold-out map and three cloth bound books, plus my old business SORT had a series of three letterpress booklets called HEED MY WARNINGS).

This little publication was a long over-due return to form, and as my inspiration I looked no further than my recent times spent looking after my son. A simple phrase that I often muttered, sometimes multiple times a day, but is no longer needed as he's started school and dressing himself. I wanted to commemorate those years in a little way.

Printed onto GFSmith Colorplan card and paper with a variety of woodblock and lead type plus one of my favourite picture blocks. Stitched with matching thread and printed in an edition of 30 numbered copies.

It's a great starting point for anyone looking to have a go at bookbinding, you'll learn two main binding techniques and a host of zine making skills too, plus you'll leave with a brace of your own hand made notebooks!

And we're done! I've just about recovered from the fantastic, inaugural Spike Print Fair. What a whirlwind of a show! A huge thanks to the Spike Print Studio and Spike Island teams for organising, planning and running it all.

I've got a bunch of new prints and bits on show for the first time, plus there are a whole host of amazing printmakers showing here too.

It's the preview this evening from 6-9pm (free to all) and it's open all weekend 10am - 5pm.

I'm really looking forward to taking part in this, there's a great line up of printmakers who will all be exhibiting and there to chat in person.

I've been busily cranking out some new work (in the sweltering heat!) especially for the show, fingers crossed I'll get it all framed in time too!

Some great results from the first Introduction to Bookbinding course I've run in my studio. Zines a-plenty, pamphlets and stab-bound books were all beautifully created by a group who were totally new to bookbinding.

I'll soon be releasing dates for more Intro to Bookbinding and Intro to Letterpress workshops in August and September, as all the remaining sessions for July are fully booked. Head over to the main website to join my mailing list and you'll get early notification on the dates.

Finally got round to posting my Haul Of Awesome Things that I picked up at last weekend. It was a sweltering but incredible event which I managed to spend several hours wandering around and chatting to people, needing out about books and type.

Awesome booklet on collecting from (after spotting her amazing hand-made fluffy bugs and with whom I got a bit carried away with discussing the novel ways we'd improve football)
And one of ever growing collection of badge packs.

Oh and I managed to grab an issue of that I wasissing too, but was too large to fit in the pic!

Such a great fair and lovely to meet new people and chat with fellow printers too. Looking forward to BABE 2028

It's been too hot to print in the studio so I've been busy sweating at home in front of my computer, updating my online shop. There are a bunch of new products that some of you may have seen at my stand on the

Have a butchers at what's on offer, I'm also phasing out my old Etsy shop for a multitude of reasons, (not least because it's become a drop-shipping nightmare full of junk), so all the new stuff will only be on my own site for now.
