The team had a brilliant time at last week, visiting the Marketing Showcase conference! It was a lovely opportunity to engage with other businesses and attend some amazing and insightful talks.
We especially loved Manpreet Singh at Bobble Digital LTD talking about AI tools and how they can be implemented to support SEO strategies. Thank you for your time, Manpreet!
(PS. The cupcakes were amazing!)

Happy November! 🍁
The leaves surrounding Clifton Village are finally falling! With this season changing, how does it affect the marketing world?
Calendar and social events can depict the level of demand by consumers. Because of this, It can play very well into the hands of the supply chain tremendously, by producing marketing strategies like campaigns and so forth.
So the question is, what content shall I use for the campaign? How much time will it take to run the campaign? All these factors contribute to the performance of your campaign and the success of what it is you're selling to your audience - whether this be products or services. Let's start with the basic foundations you'll need.
1. Be brand aware. Make sure you are implementing seasonal offerings, whilst staying consistent with your brand guidelines and style. Do not lose sight of what your brand is all about in terms of morals and beliefs.
2. Review previous campaigns! This can be a great way to decipher what has worked and what hasn't in previous years. Use this time to build on the successes moving forward.
3. Critical thinking. Is there a story you are telling with your campaign? What particular audience is it appealing to the most? These analytical and critical questions can be efficient in filtering what is and what isn't important in your decision-making.
What do you believe is key to a successful seasonal campaign? 🤔 Comment yours!

Happy Halloween from the SONDR® Team! 🤡
We hope that everyone is able to either trick or treat with the family, party or cuddle up with a classic horror movie.

When it comes to horror movies, they carry some of the best out-of-the-box, clever marketing strategies. Did you know that The Blair Witch Project and Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho' held some of the best marketing strategies to date?

The Blair Witch Project (1999) was a first-of-its-kind 'home video' horror. Within this new era, the marketing team created a 'mockumentary-style' trailer, to throw audiences off its true horror/supernatural theme. To add to the film's realism, they distributed and plastered "missing" flyers of the three stars of the film, who used their real names within the movie, across many college campuses. They furthered the narrative by writing 'Missing' or 'presumed dead' on the stars' IMDb pages. With the movie being the first of its kind with a documentary approach and the added surreal marketing, the indie film was on a budget of $25,000 and earned around $250 million after its release.

On the other hand, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) retained its secrecy during its marketing campaigns. The infamous twist was even kept from the cast, crew and critics - by buying all copies of the book to prevent spoilers. Nurses were told to stand by for the safety of the audience and flyers containing health warnings were issued during the screening. Hitchcock even went on by not allowing people to leave the theatre and latecomers being refused entry. This was a big thing at the time of its release!

Who do you think had the best marketing strategy and why?

Happy yesterday! Did you know that the first hashtag was created in 2007? 💥

The first hashtag was posted on Twitter, now known as ‘X’, after CEO tech mogul Elon Musk changed the name of the social media platform. Ever since the birth of the hashtag, people have continued to find tailored information using hashtags. 📲

The use of hashtags in marketing is an effective tool for customer engagement, connecting the bridge between people and content. ✨
