A little in-house Riso experiment messing around with hand painted ink masters!

X5 colour design by - each colour layer being painted in varying ink densities then layered to register the next painted layer

Largely an experiment to test the scanner bed’s translation of black ink tones but the outcome was a really textual and bright interpretation of the design!

“Children of Gaza unites a diverse group of artists from the UK, Ireland, and Palestine. The mixtape is interwoven with audio soundbites featuring young Palestinian journalists, poets, and children from the UK, sharing deeply personal and heartfelt messages directed to the children of Gaza.

Two short films have also been created by young filmmakers in Gaza amidst ongoing conflict, offering a poignant glimpse into their environment and lived experiences. These films are set to segments of the mixtape, seamlessly blending visuals with the accompanying music and messages.

The project is a collaboration with, and inspired by, the Gaza-based stationery brand Molhem. Established in 2022 by a group of young people, Molhem quickly grew into more than just a brand - it became a community hub for exploring and celebrating Palestinian artistry. Although the business in Gaza has been destroyed and its founders have endured immense loss, they remain determined to rebuild from the rubble. Each shared grief has become a source of hope.”

We’re back online! Took a small break from social media over the summer holidays to be with family - thank you so much to everyone for keeping the studio so busy during this time and for your patience whilst I catch up with emails!

We have a packed and exciting season ahead - new workshops (next slide!), new colour drums, some incredible projects underway, a new website in the works and some wonderful bits to share!

New Workshop dates were released yesterday and spaces are booking up fast so please do grab a spot while they last!
