New work from the studio…

Sustainable Hive are specialists in sustainability, green education and engagement. Through campaigns and content, they connect people to create action.

At the heart of their rebrand is a clear set of values, a brand story and voice that is oozes the warmth, confidence and zeal of Co-Founders, Clare and Jo.

The logo is simple but smart, the new ‘H’ brandmark is a visual metaphor for the idea that Sustainable Hive are the connecting part that bridges the gap between schools and communities with businesses and organisations. It's confident and can be used boldly in oversized applications, yet flexible to work small and on solid colour.

The wider identity plays out across a new website, featuring a vibrant, positive colour palette. Layers of colours and shapes suggest the idea of coming together. A set of custom icons based on the structure of the brandmark help to add clarity to their services and a new headline font is impactful yet warm and inspiring to the next generation of world changers.

New project!

YouDoo is our new self-initiated project, designed to help Bristol reach its’ net-zero target by 2030. It is founded on the idea that big change starts with small steps right here in our communities and neighbourhoods.

The website provides residents of Bristol with an online guide for sustainable local living. With practical suggestions, tips and useful links for small actions that can be made by an individual or family. People are encouraged to explore different action areas that can be pledged forward and shared.

The UX, design and tone of voice is aimed at creating a bright, bold and positive experience that is engaging and easy-to-use. The website is designed to quickly take people to the most relevant location specific information via a map and six key action areas. We use animated explainers and touchpoints across the site that add a sense of warmth and playfulness.

As a business we really believe in doing work that makes a practical difference – to people, communities and the planet.

🏉 We are excited to share recent work...

New identity for .scheme, an innovative new programme from with a mission to support, transform and achieve through rugby. They make a real difference to the lives of young people who have a mental health condition, disability or are growing up in income-deprived households.

Star provides support from specialist training, one to one coaching, match kit, transport, after match food, club subscriptions, and tour costs for each player and parent. The programme allows children to take part in a team sport who wouldn't normally have the opportunity. And the benefits are transformative, from increased physical and emotional health, resilience and sense of purpose.

At the heart of the identity, the iconic starburst symbolises a tackle stance, guidance, protection and achievement. It can also work as an asterisk device. The brand captures the energy of the programme, and its personality comes through in the combination of different elements of the design. From the fresh vibrant colours in an optimistic colour palette (we couldn't resist naming, yellow sun, green grass, blue sky, pink nose...), to a set of expressive hand drawn elements and bold shapes which all nod to the game. And the typeface, Azo Super adds a light-hearted, friendly, playful personality.

Star has been recognised by and as unique, and recently nominated for the Rhino Rugby International Grass Roots Award , one of only four schemes across the world. The programme will initially focus on the Bristol area, before expanding nationally... watch this space!

🎉 New brand work...

Kasa are more than practitioners of Chiropractic care, they are caring, trusted partners in health. Kasa are moving Chiropractic away from confusion and complication. Towards positive outcomes and better health where Chiropractic is accessible and relevant for everyone.

Kasa approached us to help them with their brand positioning, new name, visual identity, tone of voice and copy. The meaning behind the name ‘Kasa’, Japanese for umbrella, reflects their purpose – To nurture productive, beneficial relationships with people, where they feel at home, comfortable and cared for.

The new identity celebrates their passion, positivity and joy, from a subtle smile in the logo, a fresh and vibrant new colour palette, to engaging images of their clients looking and feeling their very best. We customised their hero new font ‘Kasa’, inspired by Japanese letterforms that feature curved and characterful shapes, hinting towards flexibility and movement of the body.

The website, communications and interior design bring it all together, reflecting Kasa's down to earth, professional and charismatic personality. We wanted to create a new experience for people that shakes up traditional ideas of a cold clinical treatment centre. Every interaction designed to make people feel good, and leave them feeling good.👍
