What do you do if you are a start and/or don't have any user data?

We talk a lot about different forms of data, how to gather that data and ultimately, how to use it. It is often the case that startups have little to no user data so need a way of targeting the correct audience.

This is why we use Proto-Persons.

Proto-Personas are a great way of making the best guess as to whom your target users are and having your whole team aligned and focused when it comes to marketing, building and tweaking your product.

I have shared an example below of a recent proto-persona we created with one of our clients.

The main areas we look to highlight are the user's Context, Goals, Behaviours & Roadblocks.
