Bristol-based artist Jenny Urquhart is known for her vibrant, life-affirming paintings, capturing everything from Bristol landmarks and hot-air balloons to Cornish coastlines and bluebell woods.

Entirely self-taught, Jenny began painting in 2010 after a ten-year career teaching biology. Today she works across acrylic, collage, ink and mixed media, creating artwork packed with colour, texture and personality.

We’ve had the pleasure of printing Jenny’s work for many years, producing her Giclée prints on our Redcliffe Watercolour 210gsm — a matt, textured fine art paper that beautifully complements the colour and painterly quality of her originals.

Following on from our recent post, here’s a closer look at Susanna Lob’s beautiful Pembrokeshire postcard collection, featuring Ceibwr Bay and Pentre Ifan.

We do not often receive traditional location postcard orders like these, so it was a real pleasure to print such a substantial stock order celebrating meaningful local landmarks and scenery.

Postcards are a brilliant option for photographers, artists, visitor attractions, independent shops, galleries and tourism businesses looking to turn memorable places into products customers can take home.

A small border can make a big difference to the finished presentation of your fine art print.

Adding an unprinted border around your artwork provides breathing room between the image and the frame edge, helping the artwork feel balanced rather than crowded.

It also gives artists space to sign, number and title limited-edition prints in the traditional way, without writing across the printed image. When using a window mount, the border provides a clean area for the mount to overlap while helping to protect the image itself.

Our standard border is 25mm around the image. This means a 420 × 300mm image will arrive on a 470 × 350mm sheet, as shown in the example.

We loved seeing this large stock order of seaside location postcards by Susanna Lob come through production. While we often print postcards featuring individual artworks, it was lovely to produce a classic collection celebrating Pembrokeshire and its beautiful coastal scenery.

How long will your Giclée print last?⁠

We use pigment-based inks and archival-quality papers from leading manufacturers, all tested to recognised standards by an independent UKAS-accredited lab.⁠

Under the right conditions, prints can last:⁠
⁠
• Up to 200 years when stored in an album⁠
• Around 80 years when framed behind glass⁠
• Approximately 50 years when displayed without glass⁠
⁠
As prints are not varnished or coated, they are water and smudge resistant rather than waterproof. We recommend handling them with the same care as original artworks, such as watercolours or pastels.⁠

We loved printing these vibrant greeting cards for artist Hannah Stiles, featuring playful animals, bold typography, colourful Bristol scenes and plenty of personality.

Hannah’s artwork has reproduced beautifully in print, with rich colour and crisp detail throughout.
