Out of Hand

Out of Hand Born in 1994, we love to design, print, and distribute flyers and posters across the UK.

Out of Hand was started in 1994 in a spare room and became a limited company in 1997. It started by packing flyers and driving hundreds of miles in the early hours every weekend to hand them out to clubbers as they left the region's clubs. From the original flyer packs, Out of Hand grew into a full-blown essential street lifestyle and music guide that firmly cemented itself in the hearts and minds

of the region. Now we have a cutting-edge graphic design service, a publishing department, a nationwide distribution network, an extremely economical in-house digital and litho printing service and a large outdoor poster scheme spanning locations across Barnstaple, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, Newport, Plymouth and Swansea. We have the largest amount of outdoor sites in Bristol compared to our competitors! We offer fast turnaround, high-quality finishing and good prices with a great service to match - at the end of the day we are here to help you - the customer. We have offices in Bristol and Edinburgh and two production sites in South Wales and Bristol.

Bristol has seemingly become a hotbed for women’s football in recent months, with the Subway Women’s League Cup Final drawing a record crowd of over 21,000 to Ashton Gate Stadium on Mother’s Day back in March.

Grassroots clubs have seen a remarkable increase in the number of young women signing up, with membership for Long Ashton Junior FC soaring to over 100 new players this year.

We are proud to be Long Ashton Junior FC's official 2025/6 kit sponsors and have carefully designed this year's uniforms to be as sustainable as possible. Our footie kits are made so they can stay within each year group whilst the players move up, so they will last longer than just a season.

Did you know we offer onsite advertising at some of the UK’s best festivals?

As an artist, brand, business owner or promoter, if you’ve never used onsite festival advertising before, we’re here to tell you: you’re seriously missing a trick. Stage siding, programmes and unsightly security fencing provide the perfect canvas to turbo-charge your marketing campaign, reaching a captive audience of thousands. Plus, festival promoters receive an additional revenue stream and a bright solution to unsightly security fencing.

This year we’ve got some seriously juicy opportunities at sites across the UK - from Forwards Festival to Wychwood, Arctangent to Love Supreme and more.

Head over to our blog to find out what’s on offer, drop us an email ([email protected]) or give us a call on 0117 953 6363 and we’ll talk you through it.

UK Music Ltd has released a groundbreaking new report examining the economic, cultural and community impact of Black music in the UK. Researchers from Counterculture Partnership LLP used a combination of quantitative and qualitative methodologies to analyse data gathered from a wide range of sources stretching back to 1994. The report’s findings highlight the unmatched contributions of Black genres and artists to the music industry, generating over eighty percent of total commercial revenue in Britain over the past thirty years.

The influence of Bristol’s Black musicians and rich cultural heritage is also underlined, with nods to St Paul's Carnival and Ujima Radio, as well key genres such as trip hop, dubstep and jungle, pioneered by artists like Massive Attack, Roni Size, Portishead and Tricky. Organisations such as Saffron Records, Trinity Community Arts and Big Team CIC are noted for providing invaluable community infrastructure and nurturing emerging talent from the city. The report also recognises some of the challenges Bristol’s music scene continues to face, from gaps in funding and career development to the recent dissipation of the world-leading Bristol Nights initiative and a need for more Black-led cultural spaces like Kuumba and the Malcolm X Centre. A temporary outdoor gallery has been unveiled across the hoardings for a new community centre in south Bristol, featuring designs created by young people and local artists. On display until summer 2026, the artwork is a culmination of a year-long project organised by community leaders from Knowle West Media Centre and Filwood Community Centre in response to the redevelopment of Filwood Broadway.

Primary school children in the Filwood ward worked with local artists, using recycled and scrap materials and archive photographs to create collages celebrating the past, present and future of the area. We spoke to some of the children who took part in the project and Dani Hale and Martha King from Knowle West Media Centre…read the full article here: www.outofhand.co.uk/blog

Bristol City Council is developing a new 10 year strategy for arts and culture in the city and they want to hear from you.

Whether you're a professional in the sector, community organiser or Bristol resident, you can let them know what matters and help shape the strategy by taking part in this survey:

With your help, we are creating a new Bristol Culture Strategy.

We’re running surveys to find out what cultural activities you take part in, how important culture is to your wellbeing and if you believe our city’s culture is key to making it a good place to live.

The responses you give will directly inform the city’s next decade of cultural priorities, investment and activity.

Culture belongs to all of us. Make sure your voice gets heard through this survey - link in comments below ⬇️

Outdoor advertising and street art have always shared the same canvas. Walls, streets, public space. The difference is usually who gets permission and who doesn’t.

In the days following Banksy’s alleged unmasking by the national press last month (👎), a fresh mural quietly appeared on a familiar stretch of hoarding in Bristol. Coincidence? We’ll let you decide (and guess where it is!)…but the question is, can street art and billboards coexist harmoniously?

THE EVOLUTION OF THE FESTIVAL CAMPAIGN

Ten years ago it was easy - you could pretty much rely on a strong lineup to do the talking for you. But that’s no longer sustainable. Festival organisers have had to adapt to competition and funding cuts, with many becoming social content machines, full-scale communities and experts in year-round engagement and branding.

So…what’s changed?

Well, if you’re planning something for this season — or even next —the best time to start promoting it is…now. Wondering how to adapt your festival marketing strategy for 2026? We've got some suggestions...follow the link below to read the full article on our blog:
