Fred & Gilbert is the creation of twin brothers with a shared obsession for hand-picked 90s and 00s vintage.

What started as a uni pop-up, fuelled by DIY posters and bags, has grown into a department-store destination in the heart of Bristol. The challenge? Keep their rebellious, community-driven energy, but give them a toolkit that stands tall alongside established retailers.

We built a brand that blends:

💚Grounded, confident colours with bold accents
💚A custom ampersand - a nod to the brothers’ bond
💚Refined typography paired with human, handwritten touches
💚Collateral that works as hard as they do - from market stalls to shopping bags to Instagram sticker packs

It’s retro, rebellious and ready for growth.

I'm still OBSESSED with how these product labels turned out for Vegan Athletica's "Plant Beast" range! 😍😁

Hey friends! Did you catch "The Arborist" on BBC Two last night?! :D

Directed by fellow Rabble Studio member, Clare Sturges - the short film explores the healing role that objects, shared stories and memories play in connecting us to the dead, and each other.

Clare and I worked together to create the title graphics (as seen below), which draws inspiration from the subject and theme surrounding the film. What do you think?! :D

I had the absolute pleasure of working with one of my fellow Rabble Studio creatives (film director, Clare Sturges) a couple of months ago - designing a logo for her upcoming film, "The Arborist".

"The Arborist" is an original shortform drama supported by BFI Network, Ffilm Cymru Wales and BBC Wales, which explores the healing role that objects, shared stories and memories play in connecting us to the dead and to each other.

SUPER EXCITING TIMES ahead as Rabble Studio opens back up in September! Our studio manager Dan has done a fantastic job of keeping us all updated / informed during the pandemic and has put extra measures in place for the gang's safe return.

I'm looking forward to giving my kitchen table some breathing space and resuming my spot as a Rabble workspace resident!

"PlantBEAST" is a range of incredible plant-based supplements, created by the team at Vegan Athletica.

Designed with (but not limited to) high-performance athletes in mind, the branding needed to be strong, dynamic, powerful, appeal to those wanting to push their training and stand out from their competitors online.

I had a lot of fun working on this project, and I LOVE the final outcome for the branding. Not to mention the whole range looks fantastic together.

But just you wait to see how great the packaging turned out! :O ;)

Pat and Dani approached me to help them brand the overall Vegan Athletica brand, as well as their range of plant-based supplements and MY GOSH did the product packaging turn out fantastic!

I LOVE a full rebrand project! Check out what First Service Financial and I have been working on for the past few weeks!

The company, established in 2001, and who's original branding had been in place for as many years, had recently changed hands. To commemorate the occasion and to bring the business image up to date, we created a range of new brand touch points including:

Maintaining motivation to work and stick to a schedule as a freelancer can be difficult enough on a normal day.

Add in quarantine, social distancing and plenty distractions / temptations at home (yes, I'm talking to you, Fridge).... and we've got ourselves a challenge!

I think it's time I re-read my own blog on how to stay motivated and inspired as a freelancer. If you're having your struggle days, maybe it can help you too?
