Good to be working alongside our client Provision Trade Federation Ltd and members of the U.K. dairy industry as they continue to raise the threats to the sector from Government proposals.

🍓 A day lobbying Members of Parliament on fruit based yogurt!

🤝 Today I’ve been explaining to national decision makers the crazy thinking behind the Government’s new and to be fair well intentioned plans to improve kids nutrition.

🥣 If you take a bowl of plain yogurt and add a spoonful of strawberries to it then it passes the new healthy food model.

⛔️ But if you take the spoonful of strawberries and blend it before adding to the yogurt, that dish then becomes officially a ‘junk food.’

😰 Getting any Government department to halt its plans, let alone three that are all involved in this policy, is challenging and sweaty work, but it’s great to sit down in Parliament and represent the invaluable UK food and drink sector.

🗳️ Putting party politics aside …

😊 … this short video from Andy Burnham on change is a wonderful example for any individual, business or organisation looking at how to engage people in a positive and powerful way.

😧 Politics, like much of the media and like a growing amount of social media posts focuses on fear and blame when communicating the need for change.

❌ While the emotions of fear and blame are powerful, they aim to engage the negative parts of our psyche …

✅ Therefore to see a video on change that engages the positive side of our psyche, and communicates hope and dare I say it … happiness, is worth its wait in gold.

🙏 Whoever you support politically or whoever you vote for, watch this video - I’m not sharing it to change your views and opinions, I’m sharing it showcase the power of positive engagement.

🤔How do you put a value on PR coverage?

📏It is not easy to measure successful PR coverage. For years it was 'column inches' that was the aim before moving to the dot com boom of 'clicks' and 'likes' on social channels.

💰One way to measure is to compare how much it would be if you paid for the same space in advertising as you achieve with submitted news coverage.

💸 For example we know that if you paid to advertise on the whole of the back page of The Telegraph on a Sunday (it is officially called a 'rate card') it would cost minimum of £42,488!

💥 Therefore, we can state with confidence to our clients, that when we recently secured a story for them at the foot of the front page of The Sunday Telegraph, it has the equivalent value of £8️⃣,4️⃣9️⃣7️⃣,6️⃣0️⃣ !

😮‍💨 Obviously our amazing PR and communication services don't cost that sort of money but it is a great example of how powerful news coverage is measured by the money value it is worth!

📰 Of his many wise words, this quote perfectly explains powerful and successful PR and communications.

❓Do our clients sometimes think we’re a bit fortunate or even a little lucky to get them the first class coverage they are after?

👍 That’s okay.

✅ We put in the hard work and the hard yards of preparation meaning we’re ready to move when the opportunity arises in local, regional and national media.

👍 The harder we work the luckier we get.

🏆 It’s a great recipe for success.

👍Call me old fashioned but Richard Branson knows a thing or two about the art of promotion.
