A bit of a controversial one 😬 but here are the 3 things that I wish more people knew about the marketing industry after being in the corporate world for 7+ years….
1️⃣ Most of the inspiration and viral big-brand content is being produced by teams of talented social media managers, videographers, photographers, copywriters, graphic designers, etc. The reality is that paying someone $100 or $200 a month won’t get you the same results. Know the team you’re hiring and think of them as an extension of your own team! I recently saw a well-known TikTok personality in the wild… with a team of 6+ helping him film the video!
2️⃣ Wanting to spend $20 a month on boosted ads aren’t going to get the results you want. Each niche or industry is different, but going up against big brands and their paid advertisement strategies can be tough. An ad that performs well will bring you sales, but you have to be prepared to spend money to make money.
3️⃣ Planning in advance is KEY! It won’t cut it any longer to do things on the fly, launch products without a strategy, and running your business week-to-week - most big brands are planning 6-12 months in advance. Set goals, know what marketing tools you’re using, and measure what’s working. Plan at minimum a month in advance so you feel organised and your plans are more structured.
