I have sat here for a long time trying to find the words to champion our incredible social guru Effi Mai Paul, my Ffi, who sadly passed away suddenly at home. In true Ffi style Six Things for Ffi, from Me.
1. You turn a walk to the shop into a proper story. Meeting “the nicest dog ever” or chatting to a stranger like they’ve been mates forever — you made the mundane feel like the best chapter of a book (by you, naturally).
2. You bring lightness wherever you go. Even on the heavy days, a raised eyebrow, a little smile, or a daft voice from you? Always just enough to shift the whole room.
3. Joy just follows you around. Barefoot dancing in the middle of our living room, singing along to songs you only half know, you proved there’s zero pressure, just pure, effortless joy.
4. You loved the simple fun. Taking detours, making up words on the fly, pausing halfway through a show just so you could guess the ending. Those tiny moments were all ours.
5. “What do you call a sticky bird? …A velcrow.” Your favourite joke. You’d say it and burst out laughing. every. single. time. And of course, I’d ignore your joke and walk away, and laugh when you are not looking.
6. You are my safe place. My person. My love. My greatest adventure. And even though it’s harder to hold you now, it’s impossible to ever lose you.
I would like to thank every single one of you for following Ffi's story, and may her Six things live on.
If anyone would like any information on the Funeral Service, please DM me.
With all the love,
David
