It’s been a busy few months at WINC in the best way possible. From building brand new websites to creating content for some wonderful clients, it’s been full-on but so rewarding.

I also took a little trip into London, which was the perfect mix of work and play. Some lovely networking opportunities whilst catching some incredible West End shows!! And more recently, attending the Burnley Culture Awards, celebrating the most incredible people within the community 💐

Some would argue no, and to some degree, they’re right.

The value of what you’re posting, and the strategies you use to succeed, will always take priority...

BUT…

There are still MANY benefits to having a feed that looks as good as the value it gives!

An aesthetically appealing feed can:

🤍 Maybe people feel as though you are more professional
🤍 More people are more likely to work with/buy from you (especially if you’re in a creative field or are targeting creative people)

To achieve this, you first need to truly understand your audience and what they enjoy. When you’re posting, imagine you’re speaking directly to them and creating content specifically for their interests.

Keep an eye on trending topics and formats and find ways to incorporate them into your content strategy. Using proven marketing and psychology techniques, like attention-grabbing headlines and strong visual hooks, can help stop people mid-scroll.

Focus on creating shareable content that people connect with. The posts that perform best are usually relatable, valuable, entertaining, or even a little controversial, because those are the ones audiences want to engage with and share.

I’m giving you permission to steal (no sorry, borrow!) someone else’s audience… and here’s how 😏

It’s called Audience Borrowing.

Instead of trying to build attention from scratch, you tap into a conversation, trend, or moment that already has millions of eyes on it.

But there’s one rule:
You can talk about the trend… but you MUST make it relevant to your business.

So what does that look like in practice?

Take the recent conversation sparked by Timothée Chalamet about ballet and opera.

Suddenly dancers, ballet schools and opera houses were posting responses, using the audio, and joining the discussion.

They weren’t just defending ballet… They were borrowing the audience already watching the conversation.

The same idea works for any industry.

The brands growing fastest right now aren’t creating content in isolation. They’re watching culture and stepping into the conversations people are already having.
