New insights from State of Marketing Europe 2026 report show brand ranked as the #1 priority for CMOs.

In uncertain markets, that makes sense.

When consumer confidence drops and competition intensifies, people gravitate towards brands they trust - the ones that feel consistent, reliable and meaningful.

For a while, the industry conversation centred on optimisation, channels and performance.

But the brands outperforming today are remembering something important:

brand is the engine that makes every other growth lever work harder.

The report also highlights a tension - while leaders are doubling down on fundamentals, many are still hesitant to fully embrace the potential of AI and new technologies.

Creativity isn’t something you find time for. It’s something you practise.

Here at Theodore, we’ve been putting that into action by diving into The Artist’s Way, the 12-week creative course by Julia Cameron.

Part of the process is Morning Pages: three pages of stream-of-consciousness writing, done first thing (bed hair and coffee included). No editing. No overthinking. Just getting it all out.

The impact has been huge. We feel more awake, more present, and far more creatively switched on for the day ahead.

Pete’s been letting his thoughts run free on the page, following ideas wherever they lead.

Kat’s reconnected with her inner artist, picking up sketching again after years away from it.
