At Kingfisher Press, responsible print and protecting the environment have long been important parts of how we operate. As an FSC® Certificate Holder, we’re proud to support responsible forestry and help our clients make more informed, sustainable choices when it comes to print and paper.

This FSC Forest Week, we’re joining FSC in encouraging everyone to do one thing for forests. 🌱
And the good news is, those actions don’t have to be huge. Small, everyday choices can all play a part:

🔎 Look for the FSC logo
When sourcing print, packaging or everyday products, look for the FSC logo. At Kingfisher Press, we can help clients understand the environmental credentials of the papers they choose and select FSC-certified options where appropriate.

🌿 Swap scrolling for time outdoors
Step away from the screen and spend some time outside. Connecting with nature is a simple reminder of why our forests and natural environments are worth protecting.

🌿Go plant-based: reducing meat consumption helps mitigate pressure on the world’s forests – and collectively reduces demand for deforestation in service of agriculture.
🚲A day without driving: if possible, pick a day to venture out by walking, cycling, or taking public transport.
🌳Connect with nature: silence your phone and spend time outside by visiting forests, planting trees, or tending to a community garden.

Whether you’re guiding walkers along a beautiful trail, helping visitors discover local attractions, or creating a handy guide to your town, venue or destination – a well-designed printed map is hard to beat.

And practical print can be sustainable too. 🌿

This year we produced these lovely explorer maps showcasing walking routes across Suffolk and Essex, printed on recycled paper and designed to be popped in a pocket and taken on an adventure.

♻️ Now this is recycling at its best!

They may have been built decades ago, but our two Heidelberg Cylinders certainly aren’t ready for retirement.

Originally designed as printing presses, we’ve given these incredible machines a new lease of life. Today they’re busy cutting, creasing and punching everything from packaging and folders to all sorts of bespoke printed products.

No unnecessary scrapping. No replacing something that still works brilliantly.

Just reuse, repair and repurpose – and some seriously impressive old-school engineering! 💪
