Google have launched their search console and in the coming weeks itโ€™s going to be of so much use to businesses who use Instagram and TikTok.

If you use these platforms for your content then itโ€™s worth having a proper strategy in place, because now you can link those socials to Google search and youโ€™ll be getting more visibility when people are using their search engine.

Obviously what you talk about, and what you write has to reasonate with what people are searching for but itโ€™s a solid start to growing your brand on a FREE platform provided by Google.

This is in the early stages at the moment, so not everyone will have access to it, but itโ€™s worth having a strong Instagram and TikTok strategy in place for when it rolls out to all users.

The summer holidays are brilliant, but they also suck if youโ€™re a small business owner.

With the summer holidays pending itโ€™s all about getting ahead so Iโ€™ve blocked out today and Wednesday of this week to purely focus on content, whilst consuming copious amounts of coffee โ˜•๏ธ.

DO I NEED TO BE ON EVERY PLATFORM?

This is a question I get asked regularly by business owners when it comes to their social strategy.

The simple answer is that yes you should however the long answer isโ€ฆ

โ€œYou should be where your potential clients are, but only if youโ€™ve got the time to dedicate to creating contentโ€

You can be on every platform out there, but if youโ€™re not showing up and creating content that reasonates or building an audience then it is a waste of your time.

Maybe take the time to reevaluate that TikTok account, or that X account or even that Threads account to see if you are utilising it correctly, and if youโ€™re not then focus on Instagram and Facebook until you become consistent.

AI IS BRILLIANT, BUTโ€ฆ

Do you not get bored of seeing the exact same graphics as your competitors or businesses within your area?

Obviously as a social media manager I spend a lot of time scrolling through platforms, commenting, engaging and generally perusing the platforms to see what content put out, but itโ€™s becoming more and more noticeable how similar the content is that is being put out by small businesses.

AI is great, a simple prompt and youโ€™ve got what you need, but itโ€™s all beginning to feel โ€œsameyโ€ and cheapening brands in doing so.

If youโ€™re reliant on AI for assistance with your content look at the most recent graphics it churned out for you, and youโ€™ll be surprised how many other businesses are using the same but with different colours and wording.

There are other apps out there to create graphics such as adobe or Canva which can aid a small business, sure itโ€™s not as instant as AI but itโ€™s better than being the same as the rest of the businesses clamouring for attention on socials.

SHOULD YOU BE SPENDING ON FACEBOOK ADS?

As a small business owner, every penny, every pound counts, especially in the current climate, and quite often people want the world for FREE, especially now that AI can make it simple to write content.

However, as a business owner you should always be looking at new ways to bring in clients, of course we want you to grow organically, but you shouldnโ€™t be opposed to the idea of spending on Facebook paid ads for your brand, as it gives you the opportunity to be seen on Facebook, Instagram and messenger to people who wouldnโ€™t or may not normally see your brand.

If youโ€™re just hoping organic content will bring the answers or youโ€™ve never thought properly about paid ads then itโ€™s definitely worth us having a chat to discuss.
