Over time, I’ve found a few trusty extensions that keep me (and my sanity) in check 👇

💜 Clockify Time Tracker keeps me honest about how long I actually spend on things. Spoiler: AI rabbit holes take longer than you think.

I’ve realised recently… I hardly Google anything anymore, I just ChatGPT it.

It hit me the other day how much that’s changed the way we all search for things.
People aren’t just using ChatGPT for fun anymore, they’re using it instead of Google.

So if that’s how people are finding information now…
how do you make sure your business shows up in those answers? 🤔

I get it. Between running the business, juggling clients, and trying to think of one more thing to post, it’s a lot. But that’s literally why I do what I do. 💜🐙

Marketing your business is easy....
Let’s be honest – marketing can feel overwhelming.

SEO, funnels, pixels, content, algorithms…
It’s like learning a new language just to get someone to notice your business.

But here’s the truth: You don’t need to try and juggle everything.
You just need to do a few things well — consistently.

Here are 3 simple things you can start doing this week:

1️⃣ Talk to your audience like a human.
Post something you'd actually say in real life. Lose the robotic tone.

2️⃣ Show your personality.
People connect with people, not faceless brands. Share a behind-the-scenes moment, a win (or a wobble), or something real from your day — it builds trust far quicker than a glossy sales pitch. (as you can see from our videos... glossy is not how we see ourselves..)

3️⃣ Pick one channel and get consistent.
Stop trying to do Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, email, AND a podcast all at once. Nail one first.

No magic. No marketing degree needed.
Just showing up, being real, and being useful.

I look at what will actually grow the business, whether that’s Ads, SEO, Email, or something else entirely.

In my experience, SEO is fantastic for building long-term visibility — but it’s not quick. It takes months of consistent effort before you see real movement in rankings.

So if a client comes to me and says, “We need to be visible for these keywords right now”… my answer is simple: Google Ads.

With a well-structured PPC campaign, you can show up at the very top of search results within hours, for exactly the keywords your customers are typing in.

It’s fast, targeted, and measurable — but only if you set it up properly:
✅ Focus on high-intent keywords — the ones that signal someone’s ready to buy or book.
✅ Make sure your landing page matches the ad and makes it easy to take action.
✅ Keep reviewing and refining to reduce wasted spend.

For me, PPC is one of the fastest routes to online visibility. But make sure you are meeting your customers' expectations exactly when they land on your site, otherwise it's just a wasted click.

Most businesses aren’t failing because they’re doing nothing. They’re failing because they’re doing lots of things that don’t talk to each other.

- Social media without email follow-up.
- Ads without retargeting.
- Networking without a system for staying in touch.

Try this instead:
✅ When you post on social, drive people to something valuable — a guide, a checklist, a free consultation — so you can capture their details.
✅ Have an automated welcome sequence that nurtures those new leads.
✅ Follow up personally with anyone who engages — even if it’s just a quick voice note or personalised email.

I write a lot of content — for clients, for my own marketing, for proposals — and here’s the truth: even the best writers make mistakes.

That’s why I always keep Grammarly in my toolkit.

It’s not just about catching typos (though it’s great at that). For me, it’s about making sure every piece of copy is clear, professional, and easy to read before it goes out.

Here’s how I use it:
✅ Error check – Spots the little grammar and spelling slips my eyes miss.
✅ Tone check – Helps me make sure I’m striking the right voice for the audience.
✅ Clarity suggestions – Cuts out waffle and makes sentences flow better.

I don’t rely on it to write for me — but I do rely on it to make sure what I’ve written represents me and my clients at their best.

In business, your words are often the first impression. But don't be mistaken, we are all human and we all do make mistakes at times. It's OK.

You Don’t Need to Break the Piggy Bank - You Need a Plan
Marketing doesn’t need to cost a fortune.
You don’t need £10k a month, a videographer, and a social media intern named Becky. (Shout out to all Becky's)

You just need some clarity.

Here’s a basic plan anyone can follow with a modest budget:

✅ Start with ONE clear goal.
More leads? More traffic? More bookings? Don’t try to do all three at once.

✅ Choose 2 tactics MAX.
E.g. LinkedIn + Email Newsletter. Or SEO + Google Ads. Keep it lean.

✅ Post consistently.
Even once a week is better than once in a blue moon.

✅ Track what’s working.
If no one’s opening your emails - change the subject lines. If no one’s clicking your ads - maybe the offer’s off. Adjust as you go.

There’s no shame in keeping it small - just keep it smart.

🍰 I LOVE CAKE!
In thinking of cake, I thought of this post.... Ever been to an all-you-can-eat buffet and ended up with curry next to pizza next to cake? That’s what a lot of marketing strategies look like.

Instead, think of it like a recipe:
🥄 Choose your ingredients carefully — the right mix of channels for your audience.
📏 Measure — don’t over-invest in one tactic at the expense of the others.
🔥 Combine at the right time — follow up while interest is hot.

The goal isn’t to try a bit of everything. It’s to blend the right things into something people can’t wait to buy.
