Things get busy and you’re left with an unwatered social media feed 🌻 Which is, of course, great that the business is doing well but you can’t help but feel a bit disconnected….

Chats continue to happen in the DMs, the occasional Instagram story idea springs to mind, but the feed starts to stagnate and guilt creeps in 🥀 I could be doing more….

That’s what’s been happening with me these few months! 🙆🏼‍♀️ Because I started prioritising perfection over curiosity and expression, which honestly makes someone’s feed a joy to visit.

My current favourite is with her “let’s see what TAT!!!” catchphrase 😂

So, LETS TALK 💬

What’re you struggling with right now?
How have you combatted social media fatigue?
Where are you enjoying showing up?
And what do you tell yourself when your content takes a back seat?

A great quote to end this week’s workshop on by Charles Limb! 💡

The ‘why it pays to take creativity seriously’ workshop covered the serious reality of scrunched brains, misdirected marketing and the rise of brand apologies. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Instead of naively navigating creativity, and failing our audiences with poor creative choices, we explored taking our own individuality seriously before educating ourselves on the complexities of getting ideas *right* on social media.

What are those complexities? Keep an eye out for future workshop dates, or find Cambridge Network’s top three takeaways here:

💭 Creativity in business starts with unlocking and practising personal creativity FIRST
💭 Practical techniques included word association and forcing connections between unrelated ideas are great for getting creativity flowing
💭 Effective creativity relies on empathy, tone, language and messaging must suit the audience

Bleep… bleep bleep… BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP ‼️

When I was little, I had a metal detector. Which I think I used all but once? Odd, because I was a massive Time Team fan…until I grew old enough to realise bones came from dead things. Hm.

🌱🪏Anyway, I’m certainly making up for it now, helping others unearth their own original treasure.

✨ So, if you’re searching for your different, where do you look?

Here are three places I help my clients explore:

📚 Between the lines

📚 Within your dreams

📚 And the edges of (my favourite) a spider diagram

Finding your different often means measuring the words and ideas of others with your own desires, then spatula-ing them all together until you land that one original connection that makes you think “aha! That’s it.”

It’s an honest process. One that doesn’t happen overnight. Or even guaranteed to happen at all. Something I’m very comfortable telling my clients.

But here’s what I can guarantee: the earlier you start that journey, the sooner you’ll find it.

So, where are you looking first? 🔍💡

Unwrapped? More like 2025 unscrunched 😃 It went something like…

Start of 2025: I predict a good year.
Middle of 2025: Everything’s crumbling.
End of 2025: What a brilliant year! 😂

Scrolling back through my photo album on New Year’s Eve and noting down standout, gratifying moments and milestones is something I’ve done for the last five years. It takes me a good couple of hours but it’s so worth it. Something I’d recommend.

Because what do you mean I did all of that in one year?? It’s so easy to forget what you’ve done, like...

💚 Performing at the Edinburgh Fringe!?
💚 My business earning its first 5k month
💚 Falling in love with my unscrunch rebrand
💚 Starting my own theatre improv group
💚 Spending Christmas with two new close friends
💚 Hiring out a hall and inviting 100 people to celebrate my 30th.

Complete with some (not all) learnings:
👍 Don’t be afraid to host a business intervention. You may just gain an incredible amount of insight and perspective to motivate the rest of the year. Thanks Billie, , Joe, Isabel, Adam, and
👍 Comparison will rear its ugly head at times. In these moments, remind yourself that we ALL bring something unique to the table. so focus on what you do have rather than what you don’t have.
👍 Just focusing on “one thing”, like what everyone else tells you to do, will stop your business in its tracks. Keep juggling all your talents and skills, the way you prefer it, and see where they take you instead.

Thank you to everyone who has played a positive part in 2025. It’s been a truly character (and business) building year, and I’m very grateful for all the support, client work, and insights that have come my way.

What are you taking away from 2025? I’d love to hear it!

💚 Much love and good wishes for 2026 x

They don’t know what to do with us multi-talented humans. And it’s getting frustrating. 👎 Because we weren’t born multifaceted to “just pick ONE thing” with our business or career path. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wanted to unpack this as it’s one of the many things that led me astray over the summer. People telling me that I wouldn’t be successful if I offered more than one service when, in actual fact, it’s my various skills which have made all my clients’ lives easier.

👋 Want a newsletter writing? I’ve got you.

📸 Need new product shots? Let’s book a shoot.

💻 Confused about your WIX website? I did mine so I’m sure I can figure it out!

🙋🏼‍♀️Wishing for more followers? I’ve grown accounts from 0 to 2k real, truly engaged followers in two months.

🎨 Want to strengthen your brand? I’ve got a bunch of happy clients who I’ve helped with theirs.

And I’m really good at all of my skills. No “jack of all trades but a master of none” applies here. 👋

The reality is... when we’re doing one job, we’re always using multiple skills.

💡So what do sales training teams mean when they say pick one thing? Some of them quite literally mean pick ONE service and diversify as you grow. But that never resonated with me. It felt like I had to pretend to be someone I’m not.

👍 Instead, I’ve grown to approach it with a ‘what do I want people to remember me for’ and that’s creativity, which one sales person argued is still too broad! You can’t win! Hmmmm…

👩🏻‍🦰 Whereabouts am I now with it? I, of course, have a responsibility to make it clear what I do. I’m a marketer at the end of the day. But I’m not going to follow marketing rules that don’t apply to me. For example, I know it’s not clear that I’ve worked in social media for ten years, including agencies in London and Cambridge, but I’m working on it.

I also know that people often just want to work with you for you. 💚

And that’s exactly why I wanted to found my own business in the first place, so I think I’ll stick with that for now. ☺️

💬 Does this resonate? Add your thoughts below or reach out, I’d love to hear your opinion.

She’s been quiet… *cue unwarranted explanation* ✍️ 🤪👇

Ok, so, in all honesty, this summer, the business got quiet, during a time I was feeling my most confident. And that steered me into an uncomfortable place.

Specifically, the rebrand happened (I still LOVE it), confidence skyrocketed and leads vanished causing doubt to creep in. 👹 Hello doubt 👋

What did I get wrong? I questioned. The new brand name ‘Unscrunch’ is everything I wished for, and my overall brand presence and messaging is more in line with my mission??

🤷🏻‍♀️ But that was the thing… I’d aligned everything to my mission (me), not my audiences’.

✨ Mine was to help people embrace more creativity by freeing them from uncreative behaviours which kept them from marketing themselves more extraordinarily.

⭐️ But they wanted extraordinary marketing.

Mindset isn’t sexy, I was advised over and over, until I eventually agreed, dropping the messaging that inspired me, and swapping it for messaging that spoke to them.

And I’ve made peace with that now, because the journey to helping businesses embrace social media more creatively is exactly the same. I just don’t talk about about the unsexy truth so much. 😂 Which is questioning what mental obstacles are getting in the way of you marketing yourself. Besides, not everyone wants that bit, and I get that.

💚 So, we’ve made a new promise…to help you bring the extraordinary into your marketing. That ‘extraordinary’ being your unique mission, story, product, service and self to the forefront. Because each and everyone one of us have something extraordinary to showcase. 🎬

Want to see the new messaging for yourself? Head to www.unscrunch.co.uk (link in bio) to see the new and improved website. ☺️

And if you are indeed looking for social media marketing support, then I have ten years of experience waiting in the wings to help you. Check out my packages and maybe speak soon 📦💡

What’s new copycat?! 🐈 Whoa, whoa, whoa, we’re a long way from un-embracing sameness. Especially with the rise of AI and lack of investment in individual extraordinarity, but we can get there!!!

Instead, we need to:
❇️Tap into our unique offering
❇️Unlearn uncreative thinking habits
❇️Reset the direction of our creative marketing
❇️Exercise unscrunched and brain-led ideation
❇️Embrace feeling!!!

But, I get it. It’s much easier to focus on tools instead of ourselves.

🏋️👟🤸 Similarly, it would be easier to get AI to go to the gym for us right! Thats exactly what we’re doing with outsourcing brainstorming to AI. Our creativity muscles are only going to get weaker and weaker. Ah!

🌟 Which is where unscrunch comes in ✨

At unscrunch, I put minds first by freeing your extraordinary before steering your marketing.
