Setting the standard for commercial cleaning ✨

This week’s feature presentation came from Tomas Augustinas at LTD - Commercial cleaning services, who gave us an insight into the world of commercial cleaning and the standards he sets for his team.

For Tomas, it’s all about getting the job done properly. Whether it’s an after-build clean, a deep clean, maintenance cleaning or sanitation, he takes real pride in making sure every handover is completed to the highest possible standard.

Bonaclean works across a wide range of commercial environments, including:

🏢 Large office blocks

🏭 Warehouses

🛍️ Shopping centres

🎬 Cinemas

🏗️ Construction and post-build projects

🏥 Healthcare environments

🏫 Schools and other large facilities

Tomas shared some of the projects Bonaclean has worked on, including the Nestlé chocolate factory and a luxury retirement home in York.

His approach is built around four things:

• Reliability
• Experience
• Flexibility
• Attention to detail

The aim is simple: to leave every environment spotless, safe and presentable.

Tomas is looking to connect with office managers, construction companies, facilities managers, letting agents and property developers, as well as anyone responsible for keeping a commercial building clean, safe and presentable.

If you know someone responsible for a large commercial or public building who needs a cleaning partner they can rely on, Tomas would love an introduction.

A recommendation built on trust. 🤝

This week Mike Pacy from Shift Coaching shared a testimonial for Fraser Deeprose ACSI from Deeprose Wealth Management, highlighting the experience of working with someone he knows and trusts.

One of the most valuable things about being part of a referral network is developing relationships strong enough that you can confidently recommend the people around you.

It’s not simply about knowing what someone does. It’s about knowing how they work and being confident putting their name forward.

When you can confidently recommend someone, it makes a difference. 🤝

This week we heard a great testimonial from Wayne Bell from @monster_heating_cooling Monster Heating & Cooling Ltd for Andy Maclean from Life First Then Work Ltd.

Building a trusted network means knowing who you can turn to when a customer needs something outside your own area of expertise.

That’s what Givers Gain is all about: building relationships with people you know, trust and feel confident recommending.

🎥 Hear Wayne’s testimonial for Andy in the video.

Specific is terrific at BNI Granta! 🎯

Another busy Tuesday at BNI Granta, with 3 visitors, 1 substitute and 1 guest, alongside Greig Martin and Katie Farrell from the BNI Leadership Team.

Tom Eyles shared his Core Value this week, which was Lifelong Learning, sharing how important it is for him as an electrician to keep up to date with new technology and developments so he can continue providing the best service to his customers.

He also talked about the learning that happens through BNI, with the opportunity to learn from other professionals and continually develop both personally and professionally.

Katie then took us into our education slot with a great reminder that specific is terrific! 🎯

She shared the story of a request she had made through a substitute for a connection to the owner of a hotel group.

Katie hadn't yet identified the specific person she needed to speak to, but she'd done her homework. She knew that high-end hotels typically undertake renovations or major "facelifts" every five to seven years, and that the hotel was approaching that point.

When the substitute shared Katie's specific request, Mark immediately recognised the opportunity. He knew the owner of the hotel because he'd sold him a car a few years ago!

A great example of why being specific matters, and a reminder that you never know who someone knows. 🤝

We also marked the final meeting of the current Leadership Team's term, with the team being named Chapter Champions.

A huge thank you to for the Leadership team: Claire Roper, Alan Croft and Lisa Altria, for the time, energy and commitment they've given to BNI Granta throughout their term. 👏

🎤 Golden Mic – Julius Hill who will get an extra minute, with Claire Roper naming his specific and earning the extra 30 seconds next week.

And there was plenty of Givers Gain happening too:

👏Wayne Bell – 6 referrals
👏Chris Howard – 5 referrals
👏 Alan Croft – 4 referrals

We also heard from Wayne Bell about why he chose to renew his BNI membership. He talked about the massive value he gained from accessing a network of trusted professionals.

Another week of learning, specificity and connections at BNI Granta. 💙

Givers Gain in action at BNI Granta 🤝

We had another great Tuesday at BNI Granta this week, with 2 visitors and 4 substitutes joining us.

Iain Weir from Associates Core Value was Givers Gain, which he described as one of the simplest but most powerful principles of BNI: help others to succeed and they’ll want to do the same for you.

Ian talked about three key elements:

🤝 Community
💙 Giving unconditionally
🔄 The law of reciprocity

Claire Roper from Menuhin & Co Solicitors then continued the theme of learning in her education slot, looking at how we can make better use of the huge range of training and resources available to BNI members.

The Leadership Team will be looking at members’ Traffic Lights and using them to help identify where additional support could be useful, whether that’s a training course, podcast or another BNI resource. Members can also ask the Leadership Team for recommendations if there’s a particular area they would like to strengthen.

Sometimes lifelong learning doesn’t have to mean finding another hour in the diary. Claire gave the example of listening to a useful podcast on the journey to or from the meeting and using that time to learn something new. 🎧

We also had some brilliant recognition this week.

🏆 Chapter Champion(s) – Business Services Power Team
A huge congratulations to Emily Bunting, Rosa Dos Santos, Iain Weir and Alison Kelly, who won the power team competition after bringing 8 visitors between us! 👏

🎤 Golden Mic – Alison Kelly, with Rosa Dos Santos naming her specific and earning the extra 30 seconds next week.

And there was plenty of Givers Gain happening through referrals too:

🌊 Chris Howard from Building Services – 12 referrals
🌊 Gareth Thompson from @leafandlawn_uk – 12 referrals
👏 Wayne Bell from Monster Heating & Cooling Ltd – 7 referrals

Mexican Wave 🌊

Another brilliant example of Givers Gain from Chris Howard from Cambridge Building Services this week.

Why Lisa chose to renew with BNI Granta 💙

This week we heard from Lisa Altria BSc (Hons) a Utility Warehouse Authorised Partner as she shared why she decided to renew her BNI membership.

There are lots of reasons people join BNI, but it’s the relationships that develop over time that can make the biggest difference.

Lisa has chosen to continue her BNI journey, and we’re delighted to have her staying part of the BNI Granta community.

🎥 Take a look at Lisa’s video to hear directly from her about why she chose to renew.

Thank you, Lisa, for continuing to be part of the chapter. Here’s to another year! 🤝💙

Making every weekly presentation count 🎯

This week BNI Granta was delighted to host a regional training event on Weekly Presentations, delivered by Brian Gates, Executive Director from the Regional Leadership Team.

The session challenged us to think differently about those 60 seconds each week and how we can make them more effective at generating the right referrals.

Brian encouraged us to be more intentional about who we want to meet, what makes a good referral and how we can make it easier for fellow members to recognise opportunities for us.

We explored everything from understanding our ideal clients and using memorable, specific referral requests, to making better use of One-to-Ones to build trust and give members a deeper understanding of our businesses.

We also looked at the difference between simply waiting for referrals and actively creating opportunities for one another.

There was plenty of discussion, practical advice and some great ideas for making our weekly presentations work harder for us.

A huge thank you to Brian Gates for leading the session and giving us plenty to think about as we plan our presentations for the weeks ahead.

Sometimes 60 seconds can make a big difference. 🎯
