Initially, it appeared on the Starbucks coffee menu in 1989, company representatives claimed that coffee latte macchiato was prepared according to a traditional Italian recipe. However, it is known that Italians do not particularly like lattes, preferring cappuccino. After a couple of years, the drink was removed from the assortment.
