Content Marketing & Copywriting Specialist.
RMG is a boutique search marketing agency that's helped SME's and growing businesses succeed on the search landscape through a range of holistic processes. One of those key aspects is our ability to create content that ranks, attracts high volume traffic and improve's client site's E-A-T (Expertise, Authority, Trust).
With the recent announcement by Google that 'Experience' is now being added into the mix, we are increasing our efforts to deliver on the best content for client sites to further build on these solid foundations.
As a result, we're seeking to bring a new part-time team member onboard to help with content creation, publishing and promotion.
This role is ideal for candidates already in employment looking for additional work to supplement their income, a recent languages, marketing or IT graduate, or someone looking to return to the workplace needing flexible employment.
Overall Purpose:
Research, create, upload and administer content management services to client sites which includes the creation of blog content, articles and page updates working with CMSs, most specifically WordPress. Solid knowledge of good HTML coding practices is hugely advantageous. Understanding of other CMS systems including Joomla, Drupal, Magento, and CS-Cart is beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research relevant topics by client niche to discover content gaps and potential traffic opportunities.
• Utilise search intent to shape content towards a specified target keyword.
• Research competing articles to analyse strengths, weaknesses and content gaps/flaws.
• Utilise own writing skills in conjunction with AI tools to devise unique, informative content.
• Draft content using Google Docs for review by team leader/clients for editing & approval.
• Upload content (text, images, videos, infographics) to CMSs, and test to ensure appearance is to a high standard with user experience at the forefront.
• Take an active role in enhancing client relationships through liaison with team leader or directly with the client through regular communication ensuring the client’s needs are met.
• Understand and work towards client KPIs and objectives at all times.
• Ensure timely delivery of all work undertaken to meet deadlines and client objectives.
• Provide cover for other team members when needed.
Essential Skills:
• Analytical skills to research & identify content opportunities using keyword research tools.
• Knowledge of common SEO tools including AHREFs, SEMrush, Mangools, Google Trends.
• Knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Excellent, fast and accurate IT skills (Google Docs, Google Sheets)
• Excellent English language and writing skills.
• Self motivated individual with excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to follow processes and work on own initiative.
• Ability to recognise obstacles and discover positive solutions.
• Excellent project management and customer relationship skills.
• A passion for digital marketing & content creation.
• Solid understanding of online marketing and web development.
• Experience working with CMS systems, most notably WordPress.
• Core understanding of basic HTML markup & ability to edit/write as required.
• Any ad-hoc duties as and when needed.
Desirable Skills:
• Photo & graphics editing using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or similar.
• Image optimisation and scaling knowledge.
• Video creation & editing skills.
• Social media marketing including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google My Business, TikTok.
Experience:
• Wordpress: 1 year+
• Content research, writing & editing: 2-3 years+
• Image/graphics editing: 1 year+
Job Type: Part-time
Hours: 8-10 hours per week
Schedule: Monday - Friday (flexible)
Salary: Negotiable (based on experience & skills)
