A brilliant day on the stand at the SWIFT Conference expo in Edmonton 🛫

Johnson and Clausnitzer were at the airport expo site yesterday, talking airside training, comms, compliance and winter ops with plenty of people who stopped by.

The expo even laid on lunchtime cocktails 🍹

People are only half the picture airside. Vehicles and equipment need checking too.

So in the new Visa app, the fleet profile has been redesigned along with everything else. Scan a fleet item and permit status is there in real time, making stop or go a decision you can take at a glance. Defects logged in Visa go straight onto the record, impounds and details sit in the same view.

The same checks you've always run, now easier to reach, quicker to read, and finished without heading back to a desk.

North America bound 🛫

Johnson and Clausnitzer are heading over to SWIFT Conference in Edmonton next week, September 14-17, and we'll have an AIRDAT stand on the expo floor.

SWIFT is North America's premier airside operations conference, and this year's Equipment Edition is hosted by Edmonton International Airport with hands-on demos and displays right on the airfield. Not one to miss for anyone working airside.

Assessors don't stop being operational just because a test is running.

Competency tests in the new Visa app were rebuilt with that in mind. Progress saves at every stage, so if you're called away mid-assessment to cover a duty, you save and exit, deal with it, and resume the in-progress test when you're back. It picks up exactly where it stopped, right there on the airfield, with nothing lost and nobody starting again.

Tests also now run at any screen size, so they work on whatever device you're carrying, phone or tablet. And with assessor controls and a full audit trail built in, every outcome stands up to scrutiny later.

If you audit people airside, two changes in the new AIRDAT Visa app should make a difference to your day to day operations.

First of all, the user profile has been redesigned. Credentials, qualifications, penalties and recent assessment outcomes now sit together on a single screen, so the moment you open someone's profile you have everything you need to make a call. It stays synced live with AIRDAT Passport and Onboard, exactly as before. It's just quicker to read and fewer taps to reach.

Secondly, Advanced Audit has a new name and a smarter way of working. Assessment Checker lets you build the list of qualifications you want to verify once, then reuse it across as many people as you need. The qualifications come straight from Passport, and there's no rebuilding the list person by person.

Same records you've always trusted, in a much better place to check them.

Congratulations to Diane Tumulak, our latest AIRDAT Hero.

Multiple nominations, all saying much the same thing. Calm under a workload that would rattle most people, meticulous with every ticket, and never too busy to help someone else out.

Her testing work on AIRDAT Visa has been a big reason the launch is on track, and she still makes time for the Support Team, the Events Committee and whoever turns up with a question.

Thank you Michelle. Well deserved, and by the sound of the nominations, not for the last time.

Your first look at the rebuilt Visa app 👀

At our July Airport Community Forum, Esen Enver and Masterson gave an early preview of the new Visa app before it launches in mid-August.

The whole app has been rebuilt, and there's a lot in it. Competency tests now work properly on mobile (no more tablets) and can be saved and resumed. You can search for users by name, airport ID, email or company. Scanning ADPs and ADAs is faster, and fleet profiles now bring permits, defects and impounds together in one place.
