This week hasn’t really gone to plan.

Work has been full on, and I haven’t picked up my embroidery as much as I thought I would.

But that’s real life.

Creative hobbies don’t disappear just because you’ve had a busy week — they just wait for you.

And right now? I’ve been swapping embroidery for a bit more reading in the evenings, which is exactly what I’ve needed. If you're interested in my reading journey follow along

That’s the thing with something like hand embroidery… there’s no pressure.

The free pattern is there whenever you’re ready.
No rush. No perfect timing.
Dream it.
Plan it.
Do it… when you can.

How has your week been? 💛

I don’t really believe in dramatic overnight change.

I believe in small things.

And if I’m honest… lately, even the small things have felt hard to fit in.

Work has been full on — courses, marking, all the usual end-of-term feeling — and I haven’t been embroidering as much as I normally would.

But I’m reminding myself… it still counts.
Picking up my hoop for 10 minutes.
Choosing thread instead of scrolling (even once).
Adding a few stitches here and there.
That’s still progress.

Hand embroidery has always been something I come back to — not something I have to do perfectly or consistently.

So if your week has been busy too, and you’ve only managed a tiny bit… you’re still doing it.

What’s one small thing you’ve done lately that you’re proud of? 💛

Running a small creative business isn’t always flashy.

It’s quiet work.
Designing digital embroidery patterns at the kitchen table.
Photographing hoops in good light.
Replying to messages after bedtime.

So when someone chooses one of my hand embroidery designs, it genuinely means more than I can say.

Your support keeps this going.

Your kindness keeps it growing.

If you’ve ever purchased, shared, saved or even just commented — thank you. Truly.
It doesn’t go unnoticed.

A little act of kindness goes a long way. 💛

Kindness doesn’t always look dramatic.
Sometimes it’s checking in on someone.
Sometimes it’s posting that card you nearly forgot.
Sometimes it’s sitting down and making something slowly, knowing exactly who it’s for.

I’ve always loved how hand embroidery carries intention.

Every colour chosen.
Every stitch placed.
Every quiet hour spent creating.

Whether you embroider something for someone you love… or you choose a new embroidery pattern as a gentle treat for yourself — it all counts.

Thoughtfulness isn’t about size.

It’s about care.

Who would you make something for right now? 💛

March has that funny in-between energy.
Lighter days… but still a bit tired.

Wanting a fresh start… but not quite feeling fully reset.

Whenever I feel scattered, I come back to this:
Pause. Hydrate. Organise. Prioritise.

Hand embroidery has quietly become part of that rhythm for me. It’s something steady. Something simple. A creative hobby I can return to without pressure.

You don’t need a big life overhaul.
Just a small reset.

Save this for the next time your brain feels noisy 💛

I used to think I needed a proper routine.
A perfect morning.
A clear desk.
A full hour to myself.

Reality?
It’s usually 20 minutes in the evening. A cup of tea. My embroidery hoop on the sofa once the house is quiet.

That’s my flow.

It doesn’t have to be aesthetic or complicated to count. It’s just something small I return to each day.

Hand embroidery has become that for me. A simple creative hobby. A few stitches. A familiar pattern. Something steady when everything else feels busy.

And that’s enough.
You don’t need a full lifestyle reset.
Just one thing that grounds you.

What’s the small thing you return to each day? 💛

Is it just me, or does everything feel a little lighter lately? 🌤️🌸

I’ve been waking up to birds tweeting in the morning, noticing the evenings stretching out just that bit longer, and we’ve even had a few days of actual sunshine. It changes your mood without you even realising.

There’s something about this in-between season that makes me hopeful again. Not rushing ahead to summer — just appreciating that shift. A bit more light. A bit more colour. A bit more energy.

It’s the same feeling I get when I start stitching brighter threads. Floral embroidery, soft pastels, designs that feel like they’re waking up after winter.

Spring isn’t here yet. But you can feel it coming.

Comment with 🌼 if you're excited for spring
