The first ever Creative Impact Award winners at the prestigious Wales Business Awards goes to Black Swan! 🏆🎭

A shout-out to our excellent team in Haydn, Dewi, Jacob, Loretta, Lewis and others, including those who helped us produce our psychological horror film, Control Room.

We have opened our new office in Great Point Studios to launch our SCRIPTED ERA with Black Swan Films (and something else that is soon to be announced)! 🎭

Over four years ago, we started Black Swan Productions in Cardiff with various core goals - one of which was to build something that positively impacted the Welsh creative industry.

What followed was years of corporate video, video podcasts, brand storytelling, late nights, early mornings, weekend working, and a paced but deliberate build towards a wider picture. Now, that something bigger has taken a massive step forward.🫡

This isn't a pivot. This isn't a trial run. This is the thing we've been building towards every single day since we launched.

Our psychological horror short, Control Room, started the conversation. Wins at FOCUS Wales, the Wales International Film Festival, a BAFTA-qualifying screening at Chapter Arts Centre. That film proved we could create. Now we want to lead.⚡

Based inside one of the most significant studio investments Wales has ever seen, the Black Swan scripted team will be developing original psychological horror alongside an as-yet-unannounced venture - one we genuinely believe could change Wales' creative sector forever. We don't say that lightly.

The scripted era starts now. 🚀

Let's look at some of our highlights from a fantastic 3rd month into 2026...

1. We launched Black Swan Agency, a full-service marketing & PR sister company to work alongside us at Black Swan Productions. Notably working with Welsh professional service businesses.

2. Our new agency gets local press, notably with this article from BusinessIn Wales!

3. We are finalists at Wales Business Awards for the Creative Impact Award based on the success of Control Room, our psychological horror short film.

4. Filming a promotional video for My Lifetime Care, our first time working in the care sector.

5. Haydn Wakeling, our Founder, is finalist for Young Entrepreneur of the Year with our new agency, Black Swan Agency.

The energy in the room was excellent. Genuine, raw and productive conversations with actors, models, on-screen talent, talent managers and film producers.
