Hi all.
I’ve been intending to sit down and post some recent cover work for a while but - irony! - have been so busy working, I’ve had limited time to do so.
However...
One project I’ve worked on recently needs a kind of time-critical mention.
Tomorrow, the UK marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day (Victory In Europe Day).
As a nod towards the sacrifices of that generation, I’d like to highlight the memoir ‘The Boy With Only One Shoe’ by RAF veteran John Henry Meller (Co-authored by Caroline Brownbill).
The book covers John’s early life in between-the-wars Britain, through to his eventual service in Bomber Command, and later.
It’s a lovely affecting story and serves as a poignant reminder of why World War 2 remains one of the pivotal moments in modern World history.
The book comes out today on Amazon and is well worth a read. 🙂👍🏻📚

Am very proud to have been involved with this particular recent project: a memoir covering mid-20th Century life and wartime service with Bomber Command.
Stories such as John’s (ably co-authored with daughter, Caroline Brownbill) are important for myriad reasons.
A lovely and affecting tale 🙂👍🏻📚

A rare behind the scenes shot from Coverness Central: my patented Dinky Design Bunker®️! (Complete with Covid-killing hand-gel).

Some random notes:

* This little space has helped me power through over 250 book-related projects and websites over the last three-and-a-bit years

* The oldest piece of equipment in my setup is the Apple Cinema HD display (on the left): it’s 16 years old and still going strong!

* For audio projects - I do little book trailer / ad things, ocasionally - I have playback through my lovely Harmon Kardon Soundsticks. NB: There’s an old Audio-M midi control keyboard just out of shot, that’s just as old as the Cinema Display...

* The chair is an extremely comfy Aeron. No more BoneyBum Syndrome!

* Most of the time - and for optimal productivity - there’s an elderly Welsh cat wedged between the keyboard and the screen, having a nap (currently he’s out enjoying a rare UK hot spell).

Speaking of which, I think I may venture out and worship the weird skyorb myself!
