At S&Co, we’re constantly reflecting on the changes happening in the world. UN Women’s latest report highlights the growing threats to the rights of women and girls, with their hard-won rights being rolled back through increased discrimination and underrepresentation.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Accelerate Action,” urges us all to take action for gender equality. Currently, fewer than 1% of creative agencies are women-owned, and only 22% of creatives in the UK are women. At S&Co, over half our team is made up of women.
As a female-led agency, we’re dedicated to challenging the gender imbalance in design and amplifying female voices in the industry. We’re inspired by figures like Samar Maakaroun, Eva and Marta Yarza, Paula Scher, Ray Eames, Barbara Kruger, and Khanyisa Klaas, whose work breaks boundaries and sparks change.
