I'm pleased to let you know that you can now buy your very own Stephen Knowles Photography as a card, mounted print or bookmark. These are in the train stations at Ribblehead and Settle, thanks to Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line. They make a handy reminder of your visit or to use as a gift - ideal for any Settle-Carlisle fan.
With thanks also to The New Art Gallery for supplying the high quality printed materials, eco-envelope & wrap.

Photographers normally say, don't go out in the midday sun but sometimes the lure of photographing nature comes calling.

So armed with camera, tripod and filters, off I went to the Ingleton waterfalls trail, with falls flowing nicely after some recent rain, combined with vivid green moss covered rocks, fern lit walkways making it a stunning location shoot.

The Seagull at Sunderland Point.

Yesterday took us to Sunderland Point, near Heysham and Morecambe. It is accessible at low tide by vehicle (please see the link below as first comment for timetables), so you have to plan your journey.
When you get there it's so peaceful with only a few inhabitants, seabirds a herd of cows for company. it also has 'Sambo's grave, a 18th century burial site of an African cabin boy/slave.'
But for me it was an opportunity to photograph the boat wrecks, Where have they sailed to? Who worked on the boats and how did they end up in the state they are? If only they could talk, I'm sure they could tell a few stories.
I hope that they float your boat, sorry but it had to be said, ha ha.

Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is more than waterfalls.
For photography, it's ideal for trying out shutter speeds and exposure settings with the moving water and variations in shade cover.
Take a look, these photos don't have any waterfalls, but still show the scenery of the trail.
If you'd like any of these made in to a canvas or print, please comment or email [email protected] as these can be printed for you. You'll get a dose of nature for your wall.
I use The New Art Gallery for their high quality products and service. Of course, it would be from the original photograph, not the ones made smaller for use on social media.

It's easy to find the countryside and appreciate our surroundings. Thank you for taking a look.

Please click to see full photos ---- A few views around Ribblehead, not just the viaduct, the station itself which has views towards Ingleborough and Whernside. The area is a great place to stretch your legs, sit on the geology seat at the Ingleborough National Nature Reserve opposite the station and explore the area from different angles.

What the area is known for - waterfalls. This is Scalebar (or Scaleber) Foss, which is above the town of Settle. Park in the layby and then head down (sturdy footwear required).
This waterall will be included on the Steve's photography suggestion page, coming soon to Harling House. Can we inspire you to visit?
