Next in the series of highlights from our last decade and a half in existence, is a relatively recent project we undertook for the Nottingham based highways and transportation consultancy, Bancroft Consulting.

Initially the team got in touch with us back in 2018 to rescue a partial rebrand project that had been undertaken by another agency and that they were less than thrilled with. We picked up the baton and successfully reworked their logo and identity into a style that they were far happier with, and then fashioned this into a new website as part of the same project.

A few years later they came to us again looking for a fresh new look and feel for the site, asking us to give it a more definitive, app style aesthetic. Content was also fully updated and case studies and project imagery were made easier to edit and upload using the integrated CMS.

Fast forward three years and the site is still looking fresh, and serving the team well to boot!

As our 15 year anniversary celebration of greatest hits continues, here’s another example of some of the great and varied work we do with our long standing clients -

Project - Papillon Events - Branding, Website Design & Development

We’ve been working with Papillon Events for as long as we can remember (okay, it’s 15 years and counting now, as they’re a client that’s been with us right from the start). Charlotte, Papillon’s founder, came to us with her fledgling startup in the high end events industry and commissioned us to create Papillon’s very first logo / brand identity somewhere towards the end of the noughties.

At the same time we created Papillon’s first website which helped Charlotte hit the ground running with her new business and took her soaring into the 2010’s. Since then, we have designed and built subsequent versions of the website as the company has grown and changed focus. Most recently, this has culminated in us giving the overall brand a refresh, with an updated logo alongside the design and build of Papillon website v.03 both of which you can see here.

Alongside their own branding and promotional material, we also help design all of the event collateral for each of the events that Papillon design and manage - from major corporate events to luxury weddings and high end birthday parties, Papillon have covered them all (and so have we!).

So for our first 15th anniversary highlight of 2025 we’re taking a look at one of the clients we have been most proud to work with over the past decade and more - alternative education provider R.E.A.L. Education.

When we initially started working with the guys at R.E.A.L back in 2013, they had a logo in place, but in terms of visual identity it really hadn’t been adequately considered or applied across the business, so we were asked to step in and help provide some direction and consistency in terms of branding across their growing portfolio of learning centres up and down the East Midlands M1 corridor.

This involved us getting under the skin of what they offer and finding out about the amazing work they do with young people across the region who have found difficulties within the traditional education system.

We came up with a design direction and style that sat well with their existing logo, had vibrancy and movement whilst appealing to a wide age group and that could be applied across a broad church of materials and uses, ranging from building graphics, to prospectus’, websites, vehicle branding, digital advertising and more.

We were so pleased to hear that R.E.A.L. have just been awarded a number of Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ ratings for their Hinckley learning centre, accolades that are more than well deserved. Three One Zero are extremely proud to have played our small part in the R.E.A.L. success story and have enjoyed watching the company blossom in this time.

Here’s to the next 12 (and more) years!

Bringing us a little more up to date with the fourth of our 15th anniversary revisited series, here we have a website project we worked on a mere 5 years ago that is still going strong.

Project - New International Encounter - Website Design & Development

We were invited by the lovely folks from international theatre group New International Encounter to help them out with their new website, just before the world went haywire with Covid, lockdown and the like.

The brief was to take their existing branding and come up with a design that captured the wildly creative environment within which NIE work, develop and deliver their myriad of theatrical productions, across the UK, Norway and more recently the Czech Republic.

Part of the brief was to visit their UK HQ in Cambridge for a tour around their offices and facilities, for us to get a feel of the eclectic environment from which they create their art.

From this we devised a ‘scrapbook’ aesthetic for the website, which encapsulates a number of different styles of photographic and illustrative images which we blended together to form a very fluid and creative look and feel which mirrors their workplace, with no two pages looking exactly alike.

We are currently working on a number of updates to this hardworking site as we speak, to help extend it’s lifespan and improve its usability as the requirements of the NIE change over time.

It’s one that’s really quite tricky to capture in a few screen shots so you’ll just have to go and visit the website itself to get a better idea!

Third in our ongoing series of back catalogue revisits from the last decade and a half, sees us going right back to the early days once again, with a job for NAE (New Art Exchange) which we still feel looks as good as it did nearly 15 years ago.

Project - New Art Exchange Nottingham, Annual Report

Good design work is always helped by great content and we had some fantastic imagery and artist examples to work with during the design and development of the NAE’s 2009 Annual Report.

The challenge here was to create an exciting and engaging design to convey the usual stats and figures contained within such a report, alongside venue imagery and examples of the work that the NAE exhibited during that period.

We created a graphic pattern and colour palette that complemented the overall aesthetic of the document, without fighting against the imagery contained within. This approach helped to make the piece feel vibrant throughout, just like the NAE itself.

By specifying a heavyweight uncoated stock for the finished print, we achieved a final document that had a tactile, high quality yet understated, look and feel that was universally well received.

Number two in our randomly curated series of blasts from the past sees the Pop Up party logo and poster project come to the fore!

Project - Pop Up Party Branding and Promo material

Back in 2013 we were asked to create a logo and promo design for this burgeoning Nottingham party outfit, which sought to bring together some of the worlds best DJ’s to events set to be held at some of the finest venues the City had to offer.

Fast forward eleven years and the Pop Up Party brand has gone from strength to strength - most recently found in attendance at this summer’s huge Hacienda event held outdoors at Nottingham’s Wollaton Park. This involved hosting the Pop Up Party marquee throughout the event - which by all accounts was most partygoers favourite spot for the entire day.

Welcome to the first in our randomly curated showcase of projects lifted from the vaults of Three One Zero, dating back across our 15 years in business.

Project - Nottingham City Council General Election Campaign

This one takes us way back to the beginning - very soon after our inception in 2009 we were asked by Nottingham City Council to create a number of concepts for the 2010 General Election Campaign.

The main criteria of the brief was to make sure that the campaign message spoke to the diverse population of the City in its entirety, to ensure a high voter turnout on the day.

After presenting a number of treatments this became the chosen direction, one which married a strong, simple message with a selection of imagery to represent a wide cross section of the electorate. We initially pitched photographing members of the public, but for budgetary and practical reasons, appropriate stock imagery was chosen.

The campaign was judged to be a success and was subsequently used again during future elections, delivering exceptional value for the client.
