A couple practical prints in the house.

I’ve always got a hat for the day and these little brackets are perfect to keep them tidy. And of course every engineer needs coffee! A brilliant use of space under the kitchen shelves, making an easy coffee pod storage solution! 😎

6 Years ago today I shared B3D Printing for the first time. I’d like to share with you where B3D is today.

I now have a dedicated studio and print room to continue my adventure into the 3d printing universe. The printer fleet is strong with a couple new additions and upgrades. The studio will provide a workspace to build new projects and modify the kit and equipment I use everyday. I’m very excited to continue my progress with B3D and share with you all the exciting projects I’m working on.

I am very pleased to share this most recent project I have been working on for a few months. The customer requested replacement centre caps for their VW camper. After a couple variants of the prototype, we succeeded with a suitable mechanical fit to the wheel.

The final piece is printed in ABS plastic, a common plastic that is used in the automotive industry. This was a two-colour print that was completed in 5 hours per cap. The surface of the print was processed and primed before finishing with matte black spray paint. A fantastic finish that looks excellent on the camper!
