Most business cards get binned before the kettle's boiled.

The ones that survive have a bit of weight to them, sharp edges, and print that doesn't smudge when someone jams them in a wallet next to a receipt from 2019 😅

That's the spec we run on trade business cards. 450gsm silk as standard, matt lam or soft-touch if you want it to feel a bit posh, full CMYK with proper bleed and crop.

Upload before 1pm, on the courier that night, in your hand the next day 👌

And it's fully white-labelled for agencies and resellers. No Blue First branding anywhere near the parcel, so your clients only ever see your name.

Your phone number, split clean in half by the back door handle. A real work of art 😅

We watch vans roll past the workshop every week with the same three layout mistakes baked in:

→ Key text mapped right over handles, arches, and panel creases
→ Designs that look perfectly balanced on a 27" screen but turn to chaos on an actual Transit
→ Thin fonts and low-contrast colours that vanish the second the van starts moving

The 40mph rule sorts most of it. If you can't read it clearly from across the road at speed, it won't work on the bypass either. One headline, one number, one logo. Done 👌

Three stickers, same artwork, three completely different jobs. Same file, wildly different results once they hit the surface.

Gloss makes the colours pop and earns its keep on product packaging. Matt cuts the glare, photographs cleaner, and keeps small text sharp on kraft and cosmetics. Clear gives you that no-label look on glass jars and bottles, as long as your artwork has the contrast to carry it.

Pick the wrong finish and you'll know the second it lands. The colours go flat, the glare takes over, or that "premium" look you wanted just looks a bit lost.

Your van looks brilliant in the design file. Then it hits the A2 at 40mph and the phone number vanishes behind a door handle 🙈

We see the same three wrap mistakes roll past us every week:

→ Logos plonked straight over handles, arches and fuel caps
→ Fonts that look crisp on a monitor but turn to mush at speed
→ No safe zone, so the important text gets chopped at the panel edge

The fix is simple enough. A good wrap is designed around how the van actually moves, not how pretty the file looks sitting still on a screen.

Got a vehicle that needs wrapping properly? Drop us a message and we'll sort you out 👍

Foamex is brilliant indoors. It's light, prints crisp, and it's great value for exhibitions and short-term displays. But leave it outside permanently and British weather will treat it like a buffet 🌧

Dibond is aluminium composite. It stays flat through rain, sun and wind without throwing a tantrum. Costs a bit more on the order, costs you far less over five years of not replacing it.

Looks sharp on the screen in your office. Then it drives past at 40mph and nobody can read a word of it.

A vehicle wrap has about two seconds to do its job, so the layout matters more than the design ever will. Here are three mistakes we see all the time:

The phone number sat right where the door handle splits it clean in half. Body text under 2 inches tall, basically invisible to anyone in a passing car. And the classic: address, tagline, three services and a number all squeezed onto one panel, elbowing each other for space.

The fix is simpler than people think. Keep things inside the safe zones, use a bold sans-serif, and pick one clear call to action. That's the wrap drivers actually remember at the next set of lights.

Thinking about wrapping a van or a whole fleet? Drop us a message and we'll make sure it reads as well on the road as it does on screen 👉

You know that sad, bowed sign outside the shop down the road? The one doing its best impression of a Pringle in the wind? 🫠

That'll be Foamex left out in the great British weather, doing a job it was never built for.

Here's the thing about Dibond, Foamex and Correx: in our workshop they all look pretty similar. Stick the wrong one on an exterior wall though, and you'll know exactly which is which within about six weeks.

We've broken it down on the slides. Outdoor jobs, short-term boards, indoor displays. Match the material to the environment and the rest pretty much sorts itself out.

Not sure which board you need? Drop us a message before you order and we'll point you in the right direction. Much easier than peeling a soggy sign off a wall later 👍

Your van is a moving billboard doing 40mph down the A2. At the next set of lights, you've got about three seconds to land your message before the lights change and they're gone 🚐

Three slip-ups quietly shrink that window every time.

One: cramming the side panel like it's a CV. If a driver behind you can't read it, it isn't working.

Two: picking the wrong finish for proper British weather. Some vinyls do not enjoy a Kent winter.

Three: parking critical text exactly where the installer's blade has to live. Phone numbers sliced in half are nobody's favourite.

These are the bits our signage team checks on every wrap before it ever hits the print queue. Got a van that's due a refresh? Drop us a message, happy to take a look.
