’m proud to support by creating a window mural for Pride Month, commissioned by

This piece was inspired by my 2023 watercolour painting, ‘Festival of Balloons’.

The story behind it:

As a child growing up in the 80s, I loved attending my local carnival in Brightlingsea. The parade would pass the bottom of our road before finishing on the recreation ground.

One of my favourite activities was buying a balloon with a numbered tag attached, along with contact details.

Once all the balloons had been sold, they would be released into the sky, hopefully travelling far enough for someone to find one and get in touch with the organiser.

The balloon that travelled the furthest would win a prize.

Today, while it would still be fun to do this, the impact on the environment is simply too great.

Instead, by painting balloons with positive messages, I hope to spread a little fun and happiness along Chelmsford High Street.

You can find my rainbow balloons in the window of which is on the route of the Chelmsford Pride march this month. 🌈 🎈🎈🎈

Fab location and I loved painting this window mural, having learnt so much from last months piece and being able to put that into action so soon!

Looking forward to the next one!

DM me if I can help brighten your windows!

Awards are wonderful, but sometimes it’s the conversations behind them that mean the most.

Last night I attended the Chelmsford Bid Business Awards held

The gallery, at the that I am part of, was nominated for three awards this year!

• Exceptional Customer Service
• Small Indie Retailer
• Corporate Social responsibility Business

We won Exceptional Customer Service again!!! It’s the third year in a row we’ve won an award and we’re absolutely thrilled! But thats not all…drum roll…we also won the award for Corporate Social Responsibility!

You can imagine the roar that went up! Thirteen of the team went up to collect the award. So proud to be part of Artists at the Meadows and work alongside eighteen wonderful creatives who inspire and support each other daily.

Now, you may or may not have seen my post from last year when we won, but what made that evening even more special, was that a nominee from another business came up to tell me how well deserved the award was.

The reason? She had visited the gallery with her young son and I was there painting. I stopped and took the time to chat with them about the gallery and what I was working on, which she really appreciated and remembered.

That moment meant the world and made that award mean so much more.

Well, that lovely lady was back at the awards last night and came over, gave me a hug and told us how much she still loves visiting our gallery and what a special place it is.

Whilst awards recognise what you’ve achieved, it’s moments like that which remind you why you do it.

So, thank you to everyone who visits and supports Artists at the Meadows. Alongside the artists, you are the reason our gallery is such a special place to be.

And special thanks must go to for everything! You’re amazing!

I’ll be honest…

I’d never painted a window mural before, so I was really excited to be asked to create one for in conjunction with the Youth Project.
(Thanks &

The design was inspired by the youth group’s skateboard artwork, which was displayed on the railings by the river during the event.

The last time I painted at this scale was back at college when I worked on stage sets and children’s bedroom murals, so it’s been a while.

I have to admit, I was nervous and on the day I was running on adrenaline, bouncing around trying to get everything done.

I’m also grateful for the company of who was painting the window beside me. She shared a few tips throughout the day and we ended up linking some of our colours, inspired by similar skateboard designs. Even though our windows were very different, there was a subtle thread of colour connecting them.

It was a bit more physically demanding than I expected. I had more DOMS the next day than after my 100km last year!

I’m really glad I did it though. It opened my eyes to different ways of working creatively and I’ve taken a lot from the experience.

Would I do it again? Absolutely.

So here’s the finished result, which I’m really happy to finally share.

A recent Guardian headline caught my attention. It highlighted research suggesting that engaging with arts and culture may be linked to a slower pace of biological ageing.

The study found that activities like visiting galleries, painting, singing and other creative practices were associated with many health benefits, including mental health. Even regular monthly engagement appeared to make a difference.

Link to article below in comments.

Many of us working in the arts already understand this. Creativity is grounding. It slows us down in a good way. It helps us focus, breathe and be present. It does not require perfection, just willingness to play, explore and experiment.

This ties in nicely as, after a short break, I am looking to bring back my abstract watercolour workshops to Chelmsford.

If you would like to join a future session, simply sign up to my mailing list (link in bio🔝) and I will get in touch once I have further details.

And if there is anything in particular you would like to explore in the workshops, feel free to comment below or send me a DM.

Thoughtful design prevents problems later on.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐌𝐞?
I’m a graphic designer who combines creativity with practical know-how. I’m not just here to “colour in, make things look pretty and hope for the best”. I help your brand communicate clearly, stand out for the right reasons and avoid expensive mistakes. I also offer illustration as part of my work.

From education to hospitality, finance and charity, clients come to me for:

𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬.
Promotional content and branding with purpose. Work that tells your story clearly and helps you stand out, not just blend in.

𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.
I spot copyright and licensing issues early, and I flag print problems before they turn into costly reprints and headaches. Design should protect your budget, not drain it.

𝐀 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫.
I work with your real budgets, timelines, and your actual reality. No nonsense or over complicating things. Whether you are launching something new or refreshing your brand, I bring both clear creative thinking and practical insight.

If you want design that is effective, strategic, and actually useful, let’s talk. I’m taking on new bookings from the end of May onwards.

If we haven’t met yet or it’s been a while, I’m here to help schools and education teams communicate clearly, consistently, and creatively.

📌 I support independent schools and education-focused organisations in sharing their story through thoughtful design and illustration that builds connection and inspires trust.

I’m an experienced graphic designer based in Chelmsford, combining creative design with expertise in brand continuity, artworking, and print management. I ensure every project runs smoothly from concept to delivery.

Alongside design, I offer bespoke illustration, bringing warmth, personality, and authenticity to your communications, a human touch that resonates with clients and the wider community.

I understand the day-to-day pressures school marketing teams face. Tight deadlines, multiple stakeholders, last-minute changes, and the need to balance creativity with clarity.

That’s where I can help. I can step in quickly, take work off your plate, and keep things moving without adding to your workload.

I regularly support schools and educational organisations with:

• Prospectuses and annual magazines
• Academic and curriculum documents
• Open days and event marketing
• Illustration and visual storytelling

Think of me as a supportive partner and an extension of your marketing team, especially useful when things get busy or you need a fresh perspective.

If you work in education, or know someone who does, I would love to connect and explore how I can support you.

Today is World Art Day.

Which feels like good moment to reconnect you with my work.

Over the past few months I’ve been quietly building new pieces and experimenting with new ideas and medium. I love creating work that makes people pause, feel something, or see things a little differently.

I’m really excited to share that I have a few upcoming events where you can see my work in person.

This Saturday 18th April I will be at Art Fair in Colchester from 10am to 5pm. I’ll have original paintings, prints and greeting cards available, so if you’re nearby, please come and say hello and take a look.

I can also be found gallery a few times a month, where I’m a resident artist. This month you’ll find me there on Monday 20th and 27th April. It’s a lovely space to chat and connect over art.

Then in May I’m doing something that feels a little bit brave.

On 16th May I will be part of the Concrete Canvas event in Chelmsford, creating a live painting on the day as well as having a stall with work available. More info to follow soon!

If you would like to support a local artist or just fancy a browse, I would love to see you there.

40 items in 40 days.

This idea was shared last week by in a networking group I’m part of.

Love this!

As a creative who explores lots of different art forms, I do tend to hoard. I tell myself I might need that random bit of paper, fabric or half used supply one day.

Lockdown didn’t help. Making beeswax wraps, lino printing, etching, painting and all the extra crafts I was doing with my young children.
So I’ve embarked on a creative declutter!

For example, yesterday I spent 10 mins sorting out a drawer filled with the boys pens, pencils, crayons etc that have been abandoned. Putting them into bundles and then popped it all into a big bag and freed up the space.

I then took a trip to the gallery I’m part of, as we have a ‘Scrap Store’ located upstairs!

It’s an Aladdin’s cave of repurposed arts and crafts materials ready for others to make use of and I now have an empty drawer ready for the things I genuinely want to keep and use.

If you’re Chelmsford based, why not pop to and have a rummage around our Scrap Store.

Oh and parents, it’s nearly that time of year…World Book Day 😬
You never know what you might find to pull something together quickly!

Find out more by visiting Unit 32, The Meadows Shopping Centre, Chelmsford.
