So, the saying goes, but when it comes to tendering for contracts is it really just a numbers game?

Tendering takes up a lot of agency time and the win ratio isn’t all that great (for us at least) so are tenders worth all the bother?

Who is driving the bus?

Have you ever had a stand-out marketing concept or design that has been pulled apart by people with little – or usually no – marketing expertise? In your gut, you know it’s going completely knock the customers’ socks off, but after the decision-making process that involved everyone and their dog, it all ended up a bit vanilla.

It’s so demoralising, isn’t it? But what if there was another way? What if the marketing leads had the final say?

Walk a mile in my shoes!

My latest blog is out! This time I’m bringing to the surface the uncomfortable truth that too many people damage brilliant creativity by refusing to cast aside their own personal judgments, thoughts, priorities, and preferences.

If you’re a designer or marketer and this has happened to you, I feel for you. I really do.

If you’re a reviewer and you think you may be guilty of this, it’s time to rethink your approach. You need to think of yourself as your customer and wear their shoes!

Grab a coffee and head to my musings, they may just turn those “I just don’t like it” heart-sinking moments into “you’ve nailed it – our customers will love that!” experiences.
